rv rider

The RV Rider platform-style hitch bike rack makes it simple to carry 2 electric bikes on the rear of your motorhome, fifth wheel, or flat-towed vehicle. This rack is easy to use, and it features padded clamps and adjustable wheel hoops, so you can quickly load and unload your bikes. A locking hitch pin with an anti-rattle system tightens the rack's shank to your hitch receiver to prevent it from rattling around inside the tube.

Locking, Padded Clamps

clamps

Constructed of rugged plastic, the RV Rider uses padded clamps with hand knobs to secure your bikes by the frame or seat post. The clamps are easily adjusted along the vertical tubing and lock securely in place. Each clamp functions independently, which means you can position them to carry bikes of different heights.

If you are transporting a carbon fiber bike, do not use the clamp on the frame. Instead, attach the clamp to the seat post to prevent damaging the frame.

Adjustable Wheel Hoops

wheel hoops

The wheel hoops accommodate bicycles with wheelbases up to 60" by sliding along the horizontal arms. They secure in place with easy-to-use hand knobs, and ratchet straps fasten the wheels to the hoops. These universal wheel hoops will fit standard and fat tires up to 5" wide.

Folding, Tilting Design

tilting

The rack tilts up and down, without bikes loaded, for storage and access to your rear cargo area. To lower the rack, remove the pin, hand knob, and carriage bolt, then tilt the rack down.

folding

To raise the rack, remove the hand knob and carriage bolt, then fold the rack up and reinsert the hardware. After, you can use the hook and loop strap (similar to Velcro) on the frame clamp and connect it to the wheel holder, which helps secure the mast in place.

Easy Installation with Locking Hitch Pin

The RV Rider easily installs in the hitch with the locking hitch pin. Just slide the shank into your receiver, insert the hitch pin, and attach the lock pod. The locking pin works as an anti-wobble device to eliminate sway and rattle in the receiver. It also comes with a hitch tightener to help reduce vertical wobble by pressing the shank against the receiver. It attaches to the top or bottom of the flange on your receiver using a U-bolt and clamp bar.

Complete Security for Bikes and Rack

The RV Rider comes with locks for both the rack and your bikes to deter theft. The lock pod on the hitch pin, lock cores in the frame clamps, and the 8' long security cable lock are conveniently keyed alike.

We love our Hollywood RV Rider Bike Rack. We have loaded it on our 87 Jeep Wrangler, our ‘06 Lexus, and our ‘83 Pilot. It is a perfect fit on all three! We needed the extra length to clear our rear mount tire on our Jeep. It worked! We have taken our 4”fat tire e-bikes on many roads from northern Idaho to southern Arizona. The bikes travel well and sturdy on this heavy weight rack. We feel very confident that they stay in place. We are able to load our bikes in a few minutes and hit the road in no time. It is very easy to load. We recommend using the bar grip extenders (which came in the package) to compact the storage area. This rack comes with a tip mechanism to allow you to tip the bikes down to access the rear trunk or hatchback.

We still love this bike rack! It carries our bikes on rough, gravel, uneven roads with hardly any bounce to the rack or bikes. It is very solid and the bikes stay so secure. We highly recommend this heavy duty bike rack. It handles our bikes wonderfully!

I have had several name brand bike racks and the Hollywood Racks RV Rider is by far the best. The rack is very sturdy and lite weight. It was easy to assemble with very good instructions. The rack fits our fat tire e-bikes and my SUV perfectly. The rack is very easy to adjust and while it sits high as to not drag the bikes when exiting parking lots, loading our 60lb e-bikes is no problem at all with the appropriate nethod, one wheel at a time. It is also possible to lean the rack to access the rear hatch on my SUV. The main reason for purchasing the rack is it is certified to mount behind a motorhome or on an SUV while being flat towed. There is literally no movement or sway of the rack behind the SUV. Very happy with this rack.

The rack has been working flawlessly. It is a very sturdy rack, and very easy to adjust the bike locations.

I purposely delayed submitting a review until we had a chance to really test it. We have just arrived in New England from GA and the bike rack has performed well. The interstates had many bumps along the way but our 2 bikes (1 ebike 50lbs/1 mountain bike 35lbs) remained secure on the back of our RV at 65 mph. I would rate 4.5 stars if possible, our issue was one of the locks was stubborn and I had to spray it with some lubricant. We also had one of the wheel strap cushions fall off and it took some time to find it since it is all black. I have orange duct tape on them now and spray painted the nuts & washers that are removed when using the rack. Very happy with our purchase.

No problems with the Hollywood Bike Rack. We have logged about 4K miles using the rack to carry my wifes EBike and my mountain bike. Holding up strong.

by:

I bought this rack early in the spring and finally installed it on our motorhome for our first trip with our new e-bikes last week. I am impressed with how solid the rack is and how it holds the bikes in place - they didn't move! No wiggling or swaying and after several hundred miles, the bikes still look brand new! I'm particularly grateful for all the security features and am comfortable that our new bikes won't be subject to theft.
I usually get lost in the instructions and end up breaking something when I install anything. Not this time! I took my time and followed the directions easily and apparently did everything right. It all went together perfectly.
Loading the bikes was easy (again following the instructions carefully).
I highly recommend this bike rack!

I love this rack!! Weve used it a lot over the last year. Unfortunately, we wont be able to use it any longer. Due to my wife having health issues, we replaced her XP2.0 Lectric e-bike with a Lectric e-trike. Im hoping that the trike carrier adaptor you make for this rack can be modified and approved for use on my RV.

by:

2month update: We love our Hollywood RV bike rack!! The 2” hitch fits perfectly for a secure connection. We carry 2 beach bikes on our travels. The rack was easy to install, easy to set up for carrying bikes and easy to fold up when not carrying! The bikes fit snugly on the rack and nothing moves or rattles going down the road. Glad we listened to etrailer advice and purchased upgraded rack designed for use on RV flat tow vehicle! Excellent product!! I did add extra reflector tape to aid in seeing at night when folded up not carrying bikes.

by:

I really like this rack so far. Not many models are suitable for carrying 2 60lb Ebikes on a Class A motorhome. Assembly was fairly easy, with good written and video instructions. The rack is very sturdy and the bikes feel very solid when installed. I may update this after our first long roadtrip.

by:

The bike rack did not hold up. We had to stop several times on our 10 week trip to weld it together. It was a constant worry, it bent to an fro on the back of our trailer regardless of how we strapped or braced it. At the very end of our trip, we had to load the bikes in our 24 foot RV. The rack was poorly made and is not meant for heavy bikes. Terrible produce.

I am surprised that the bike rack did not hold for you. As long as the bikes did not weigh more than 80 pounds per bike and it was not being used with a 1.25 to 2 inch adapter or bumper-mounted hitch adapters it should be fine. I will have the manufacturer reach out to you. The bike rack does have a limited lifetime warranty.

by:

The bike rack was very easy to assemble, the instructions were very thorough and complete. The bike rack is very sturdy, no bike movement at all. My Rad City Step Thru and Rad Runner e-bikes fit very well on the bike rack installed on a Entegra Vision XL 34g Motorhome. No hitch extension was required. Plus the bikes were able to be positioned in such a way that the Motorhome taillights are clearly visible. I am very pleased with this purchase. Thank you.

by:

Rack works perfectly with our two Aventen Sinch e-bikes. Our only wish is that it had ramps to help get the bikes up.

The Hollywood rack continues to work perfectly. We have hauled our bikes all around our area and down to Florida on the back of our 5th wheel. It is very sturdy with little or no movement during travel. One thing of note, it is very heavy. For ease of use, my wife and I usually carry it. Not a big deal, yet. Maybe in 10 years tho.

by:

The Hollywood rack is sturdy and secures our ebikes well. I like the clamp and locking system for holding bikes upright. However the clamp arms are always getting in the way when loading/unloading and transferring the heavier inner bike to the back. It’s also difficult to secure the clamps from moving around when the bike rack is folded up. I wish these clamp arms could be folded and stowed better.

Bob

8/11/2023

The rack is holding up well and is still very secure. But the inability to stow the clamps when loadingunloading is a real pain. They always seem to be in one of the two wheel holders preventing the tire from being ed until the entire support column is raised.

by:

I use this rack for my fifth wheel. It is very well built and secures my two e-bikes very well. At times lifting the bikes onto the rack can be difficult. Getting the inside bike on is somewhat difficult but can be done with a little work. I like this rack and it works very well on my fifth wheel. It is built very well and I am not worried about it breaking down while traveling. Sorry no pics.

Ive used this bike rack for a year now and it is still working out great. Very well built. Never worry about it failing on me.

by:

I use this rack to carry my Kracken Punisher E-bike. Bike weighs about 60 lbs and this rack works very well. I've gone on several trips totaling well over 15K miles without an issue. Bike is easy to load and secure. Only issue I've had are with the locking devices. They seem to be cheaply made and have quit working. I was able to substitute a heavy duty cable and padlock to protect my bike.

by:

Very solid rack. Assembly was pretty easy and guide was good. Holds my 2 e-bikes with 5" fat tires no issue. I would make sure that your receiver will take this hitch. It barely lines up the pin hole on the rack when I put it on the RV, but very solid once on there.

by:

After a year, I'm still really happy with this rack. I use this to carry two heavy Riese und Müller ebikes on the back of a motorcoach over a towed vehicle hitch. The rack is heavy to take on and off, but reassuringly sturdy when the bikes are on it. The wheel brackets work well for carrying the weight with full sized wheels, and the stem clamps have flexibility for finding a good position to hold the bikes upright without rubbing on anything.

by:

Have had this rack for 1 year. Did 8,000 mile trip across country and back with two mountain bikes mounted on rack on back of a fifth wheel camper. They never budged. Have made two trips from Michigan to Florida with two electric bikes on this rack on the back of an SUV and they never budged. This rack is rock solid and very easy to use. It folds up when not in use so that it does not have to remove from the vehicle every time. This style with the clamps that grab the frame or seat post are much much much more stable than the bike racks that just hold the tires. One key fits all the locks and this wreck comes with a separate cable to lock the bikes together or to the rack itself. The two clamps also lock and the rack locks to the vehicle. I did a lot of research before spending the money and this rack takes the gold medal. It survived I-40 in New Mexico with two bikes on the back of a fifth wheel.

by:

Awesome rack very secure doesn’t move at all even with 2 heavy e-bikes on it and that is with using my adapter for my 2 1/2 “ receiver to get it to the 2” size

by:

I have a Grand Design Solitude 5th wheel camper.
My receiver is flush so I had an extender to get the bikes out far enough from the camper.
Really Love the sturdiness of this E bike rack!!
etrailer is Awesome and Alex always does his Best to ensure I am a satisfied customer!!

by:

The e-bike rack was a recommendation from a friend from an RV enthusiast forum. Ordering was easy and instructions for installation were clear. We have mounted it to our SUV and to our 25' mobile home and it works well on both.

by:

I have used this bike rack on the back of our 30' Class A MH with 2 75lb E-bikes and it has done great. We have traveled roughly 7000mi with it so far and have no complaints.
I did lose the plastic hand knob that allows you to flip the carrier up against the back of the vehicle when empty but I'm pretty sure I left it loose. Luckily, when I realized it was gone we were right across the street from a hardware store, a new nut and lock washer and was good to go. Eventually I will get around to ordering a replacement from Hollywood.

by:

The hitch was straight forward in the assembly. Functioned nicely with my two Model Rs from Electric Bike Company, total weight of two bikes is 120 lbs.
I have it on the back of my Jeep Wrangler for flat towing behind the RV.

Rack is strong and sturdy. After a year of frequent use, I highly recommend this rack!

We picked this bike rack because it was rated for ebikes, and supports them on a towed vehicle behind a motorhome. The assembly was easy and putting the bikes on the rack and securing them is easy as well. Great bike rack, highly recommended.

Its a great heavy duty bike rack

by:

I purchased this rack to transport 2 e-bikes behind my 32ft class-C motorhome. The bike rack was easy to assemble and very professionally engineered. The rack holds the bikes secured with locking devices. The bikes and rack have no play or movement when all secure points are tightened. Rack and bikes do not block license plate or tail lights even when I put the cover on the Lectric 2.0 bikes. The photos show the rack attached to my Nissan Titan XD. This is an amazing bike rack.

by:

A great, solid bike rack for our RV. Most racks are not meant for the back of a 5th wheel but this on is. Very sturdy and easy to fit to our bike size. Fast delivery right on time.

After a year we are still very happy with the bike rack. I move it between our truck and our RV as needed. Its always solid and makes it easy to secure our e-bikes. We have one bike with a step through frame and another with a crossbar. The rack handles.both with easy adjustments. Highly recommended.

by:

Nice bike rack. It works great on the back of my 5th wheel. I have 2 70-pound e- bikes on the rack with very little movement and no issues after 1 year of travel.
Great bike rack.

by:

Very solid bike rack. We have 2 heavy e-bikes on behind our motorhome. We drove from Ontario / Michigan border, to the west coast and back. no issues. Very happy with my purchase.

  • Which 2-Bike Carrier Should I Use For My Travel Trailer?
The Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches # HLY64FR is not compatible with travel trailers. The carrier is not built to withstand the extra bouncing and stress that is induced when a bike rack is on the back of a travel trailer. I recommend looking into the Swagman XC2 Traveler Platform-Style 2 Bike Carrier for 2" Hitches or RV Bumpers # S64663. This has an adapter to attach to a trailer's bumper (4" or 4-1/2") and also fits the 2" receiver on your travel...

I recommend using the Hollywood Racks RV Rider # HLY64FR, which is approved for use on a 5th wheel and can hold fat bike tires up to 5" wide. It can hold heavy bikes up to 80 pounds each. If your bikes have aggressive step through frames you will need to use a bike frame adapter bar like the # 64005. The RV Rider weighs about 58-lbs so you'll be able to safely transport your bikes and stay under the tongue weigh capacity of your hitch.

I can definitely help clear up some of the confusion. The Hollywood Racks RV Rider, part # HLY64FR, is the upgraded version of the older one. This one (HR1700 by Hollywood Racks' part number) has wheel holders that can accept fat tire bikes. The one that you have (HR1600 by Hollywood Racks' part number) was only compatible with tires up to 3". In order for you to use your new fat tire bike, you will need the two Universal Wheel Holders. With this rack weighing 70 pounds and both your bikes weighing 70 pounds, you will still be well within...

  • How do I Transport a Honda Grom, a Scooter, and 2 Bikes on My Class C Motorhome?
As far as mounting your Honda Grom and your scooter to your 2019 Winnebago 22R motorhome, we unfortunately do not have a traditional bike rack that will work for the weight of those bikes. However, the best route is to use the Ultra-Fab Dirt Bike Carrier for 2" Hitches - With Ramp - 77" Long # UF48-979033. The Ultra-Fab is RV-approved and will fit motorcycles/scooters up to 500 pounds. In addition, the carrier comes with an included ramp that can be positioned on either end to make for...

  • What Bike Rack and Hitch do You Recommend for 2 E-Bikes on My 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited?

If you have a hitch installed with standard-sized spare tire, you will need additional shank length from the center of the shank's pinhole to the closest part of the bike rack on your 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. With that length, the only way to get the proper measurement with any rack with the weight...
