Question:
it says 350 lb minimum tongue weight. The 1700 was 300 lb tongue weight. why the increase? Most 5 th wheels are 300 lb tongue weight unless the have increased in the last model year. My bikes, the heaviest being 70 lbs. so the total comes in under the rack total weight limit. Right now only use will be on my truck as the 5 th wheel wont be purchased until the summer

I can definitely help clear up some of the confusion. I confirmed with Hollywood Racks that you need to have a vehicle tongue weight capacity rating of at least 350 pounds in order to use the RV Rider # HLY64FR. This is because the engineers at Hollywood Racks have constructed the rack in order to use on a minimum tongue weight of 350 pounds on a fifth-wheel trailer. When mounted on a fifth-wheel trailer, there is considerably more torque and force that is exerted on the rack that requires more overall strength of both the rack and your RV.
However, for a rack that is also fifth-wheel approved and does not have the 350-pound limitation, I recommend the Swagman E-Spec # S94FR. The E-Spec still comes with a high weight capacity of 70 pounds per bike which is perfect for your bikes. If you happen to have women's bikes or bikes with step-thru frames, you need a bike frame adapter bar # 64005 in order to attach to the ratcheting hooks of the E-Spec. Also, for tires that measure 3-5 inches wide, you need the fat bike adapter cradles # S64679 for each bike.
I went ahead and attached demo videos of all of these products for you to check out.
