Can Hollywood Racks RV Rider be Used in Hitch of Flat Towed Vehicle

Question:

I have 2 lectric XP 3 e-bikes that I would like to carry on the back of my flat tow vehicle, a 2024 Jeep Wrangler. From what I read the HLY64FR fits the bill. I have been putting them in the back of the Jeep, but I’m not 65 anymore. Just wanna make sure before I invest $600.

Hey Jeff, yes the Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # HLY64FR that you referenced would be a great option for you. It can be used in the hitch of your flat towed vehicle and it will be much easier than putting the bikes in your Jeep! That had to be a tight fit.

Jameson The rack arrived in quick fashion and was fairly easy to install. The e-bikes fit in nicely. Only comment is that tilt down feature to access the back of the Jeep lacks about a 1/2 inch of clearing the spare tire, hence it will not tilt down enough to open the rear door. Should not be a huge issue since we can access the rear thru the passenger doors. I’m sure though that’ I will have to take it off on occasion. Thanks

@JeffN Glad it's working well. Is the clearance issue with the rack a part of the bike that needs 1/2 inch more or a part of the rack?

@JamesonC It’s part of the rack. Hollywood calls it the main beam. It fits into the hitch and has a pivot point. When it pivots down the end of the main beam hits the tire. If I didn’t have a full size spare it would work. Them’s the breaks.

@JeffN Gotcha that makes sense.
