This was an exact replacement for my broken roof vent. I watched the videos available on the website and felt pretty good about swapping it myself. It arrives today. I took out the old one and put in the new one in about 30 minutes total. The roof vent install kit made it easy to ensure it was water tight.

The vent definitely seems to be better quality than what came with the trailer. The install was fairly easy and the fit was perfect. Be sure to get an “install kit” that has putty tape and new screws. The screws are easy to find but the putty tape is not readily available at many hardware stores.

My trailer vent had been broken by a low-hanging branch so I ordered a new one. When it arrived {very late due to manufacturing schedules} I figured that it would be a snap to install. Removing the old one took quite awhile and the new appeared to be such a close match to the old one that I did not realize that the mounting holes were slightly different until I was trying to re-install the screws. A quick zip with an 1/8" drill bit and all was installed and it now works beautifully. If you have one of these vents and it becomes damaged this item is an excellent replacement.

I purchased a 2005 haulmark car hauler and this vent was installed in the ceiling but was missing the cap and the rest of it was rough to say the least. The metal section that screws to the roof was fine and sealed fine so I just opted to rr the plastic pieces and cap from the kit to revamp mine. Worked perfect. No issues whatsoever with install. There were however no screws that I could find in the package for securing the trim panel inside and the metal roof section(which I didn’t use) on the outside. I already had this hardware so otherwise it was perfect. This was priced Lower at Walmart but Etrailer gave me 110% of the price difference back once sending them the link to the same unit on Walmart’s website. Everything was shipped super fast and arrived fine. Great experience with etrailer would do it again in a flash. Thanks!

You probably need a longer garnish than the one supplied in this kit. The one that will fit your needs the best would be item # VA0445-35 but we also have an even longer garnish that is for ranges between 4 and 7 eighths to 6 and a quarter inches which is part # VA0445-37.

- Can a Fan Be Added to the Camco RV Roof Vent Without Having to Upgrade the Unit? If you do in fact have the Camco RV or Trailer Roof Vent # CAM40480 then you're unfortunately out of luck as there is not an option to add a fan. However, if you have the similar looking Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vent # V2092SP-28, then you can add a fan with the Replacement 12V DC Motor for Ventline, Ventadome, and Vanair Fans # BVD0218-00 & the Replacement Fan Blade for Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vents # BVD0215-00. Well I guess I can’t say I’m as satisfied as I initially was. The vent got destroyed by hail in April. We have had some bad hail storms this year in Colorado but I don’t feel they were any worse at our home than in previous years. The original vent lasted more than 10 years before hail took it out.
