Specs:
Made of durable, rustproof aluminum, the GlowSteps are built to last. The heavy-duty stainless steel hinges provide strength and stability, and they can be easily taken apart in case you need to remove steps or add a step onto the existing stairs. SureGrip tread on each step surface helps to ensure proper footing as you climb into or out of your camper or RV. And best of all, the GlowSteps come with premium glow-in-the-dark tape for excellent visibility at night. Each strip of tape requires only 5 minutes of light exposure for it to illuminate up to 10 hours.
Will Torklift GlowStep Camper Scissor Steps Work for You?
Scissor steps are typically installed on truck campers. The GlowStep scissor steps from Torklift are simple to install. After the initial installation, they're also easy to attach when needed and detach for compact storage. To ensure you choose the correct size for your application, there are a few measurements you will need to take.
The Torklift GlowStep scissor steps have a single mounting bracket that attaches to either the camper wall or the truck bumper beneath the doorway. To decide which size you'll need, locate the space available for the mounting bracket on your application and measure the width and height. You will need a mounting space of at least 20" wide x 1" tall.
Once you have an approximation of where the mounting bracket will go, the spot you chose will be used as the "mounting point" to determine how many steps you will need.
How Many Steps Do You Need?
To decide on how many steps you'll need, measure from the mounting point to the ground. This is called the entry height. The entry height should roughly match the height of the steps when they're fully extended, and it will tell you how many steps you need.
The chart below displays entry height measurements in the first column. The step part numbers with the 21-1/2" mounting bracket width are in the second column.
This page's step assembly is in bold text.
| Entry Height | 21-1/2" Mounting Bracket Width |
|---|---|
| 16" - 23" | TLA7802 |
| 16" - 27" | TLA7802-8000 |
| 23-1/2" - 30-1/2" | TLA7503, TLA7803 |

| 38-1/2" - 46" | TLA7505, TLA7805 |
| 38-1/2" - 50" | TLA7505-8000, TLA7805-8000 |
| 46-1/2" - 54" | TLA7506, TLA7806 |
| 46-1/2" - 58" | TLA7806-8000, TLA7506-8000 |
How Do You Install the Steps?
To install the steps:
-Make sure the assembly is centered beneath the doorway
-Secure in place with included lag screws
Add any of these accessories to your GlowSteps for stability, eliminating gaps, and keeping your steps and RV interior clean. The GlowGuide handrail (TLA7621 - sold separately) attaches to the outside of your RV and a bracket on the bottom of the steps. This helps to steady the assembly and adds 25 lbs to the weight capacity of the stairs. The SafeStep vinyl barrier (TLA7602 - sold separately) easily fastens with Velcro strips in between any 2 steps. This prevents you or your pets from accidentally slipping between steps. The DirtDestroyer boot brush (TLA7603 - sold separately) affixes to the bottom of the steps so you can scrape your shoes before climbing into your RV.

fast shipping A+ Excellent Product
Excellent customer service. Great help when product was shipped with damage, I had another one in a couple days and the return process was very easy.
Thanks!
Sheila was very helpful steps came on time. All the products I have received from etrailer have been correct and on time. 5 stars to Sheila for her help.
The weld on the bracket that hold the Hand railing broke off the very soon after we used it three or four time.
OMG. excellent stairs. great service from etrailer. none better!!
Excellent folding step strung sturdy yet simple and easy install
Me and my husband are extremely pleased with etrailer's service, We received our
scissor steps very quickly, they were easy to track. We will definitely order from etrailer again. We have not installed our steps yet but hope to this weekend after TS Sally moves out. I will send pictures when we have them mounted to our camper deck. Thank you for the great service, in these crazy times that were going thru that is hard to find!
This is one of the best purchases we have made for our 4-Wheel camper. The steps are very stable and easy to take on and off. We are very happy with the steps.
These steps are high quality and very sturdy! Love the glow stickers, they are plenty bright and make all the difference in low lighting! Highly recommended!
The steps arrived well packed, and the steps themselves are of high quality. I haven’t had time to mount them but expect everything will come out great. Looking forward to getting them mounted for our trip down Route 66 in September.
Excellent product. Really good quality. I am using it to get in and out of a box truck with a power tailgate. Once the tailgate is on the ground, I pull down the steps and climb right into the truck. It works perfect and odd used thirty or more times each day by a person weighing 270 lbs. It is holding up very well.
the stairs areas stiff, they are hard to pull out and to push back in. but they are very sturdy and make it so much easier for me and my 35 lb dog to get into and out of our truck-bed camper.

The stairs remained stiff-hard to pull out. I finally sprayed WD40 on the joints and that helped a lot. The tiny cable that holds them up snapped so now I have to use a bungie cord to hold them up. Otherwise, they are sturdy and very useful.
I've had these on my truck camper for a year now. I put them on to replace a hitch mounted step. They were a little pricey, but worth it. Very well made and much easier for us to get into and out of the camper. I also added the adjustable legs, which likewise are a little pricey for what they are, but they make life so much easier when boondocking.
Best accessory I purchased for my pop-up truck camper, shouldn't have waited as long as I did. Easy installation and extremely well built. A little slippery, so I added three strips of 3/4" coarse step tape to each step. Don't store steps on carpet, the aluminum will leave marks, which can be cleaned off. Most important of all, these steps provide you with a SAFE and stable way to enter and exit you camper!
First, let me say that I am an advanced DIY'er. I've been a fix-it-myself person for about 50 years. At 21 I was a maintenance shop supervisor. Fit, finish, and function are all important to me. It's hard to impress me. For years I have put off buying steps for my camper because of the cost. Then, at age 71, I thought the step ladder wasn't the best idea for my camper. I bit the bullet and bought this product,,, hang the cost.
I can say this product definitely performs as I hoped it would. It hits all of the Fit, Finish, and Function marks. Under my 190 lbs it doesn't bend in the slightest. It is strong and sturdy, and it easily attached to my truck camper. Entering my camper is very easy with these stairs. I would definitely recommend this product.
Easy to install. Only thing that would be nice is to have the ability to lock the steps to the bracket that is attached to the camper. Otherwise they are strong and make access a breeze.

Just awesome love them every day.
Works well with the fox landing. The Original fox landing flexes so much it requires both hands on the grab bar and a helper pushing you up. No hands required here!
This step is wonderfully! Lightweight, easy to use, and very sturdy. Great product and perfect for our application.
Great steps we went camping and were exactly what we wanted
Great product. Light weight, sturdy, well worth the safety. Easy to install on camper, hook up and take down a snap. Pleasure to deal with etrailer, fast shipping and pleasant employees. Knowledgeable and helpful. Steps work in Canada!
These are very high quality steps! I mounted them to a large aluminum storage box that I have on a receiver style hitch plate The box and step combo make it really nice for getting up and into my camper. The nice thing about these steps is that you can purchase addition mounts and place them at other locations and use the same steps. They also fold and stow very neatly. I purchased the pin lock assy.... but if you have the room they are easy to remove and store elsewhere.
My camper came with the mounting bracket already attached so once I received my collapsible steps, I just inserted the two pins and boom they were ready to go very sturdy. Easy to apply could not be more satisfied. The only thing that these should have are adjustable feet on the end. I was not aware that this unit did not come with adjustable feet Other than that this would score 11 out of 10

Glad to hear it was an easy install, Paul! Adjustable feet are a good idea! I will see what TorkLift has to say about maybe adding them on in the future. : ) What did you install these on?

This step has been perfect for our self-built campulance! It shows perfectly on the existing bumper/step and has been a game changer for us and our dogs. We did a 12,000 mile trip last fall and this step held up great! It's pricey, but absolutely worth it.

That is so cool - I gotta know more! What's the origin story behind the Campulance? Was there an emergency need for a weekend getaway?
Great steps. We got them because I slipped on ice at night on our former sort of janky set up and ended up with a broken arm. Wanted something with more stability. Also wanted something easy to install and that needed little or no maintenance. These steps are it....but see below for the reason I gave them a 4 and not a 5 rating. Installed on a Four Wheel Camper Fleet. Installation was pretty straight forward, but every application will differ at least a little I would think. Really like the glow in the dark tape strip on each step. They are still working and still attached after a year. The one thing I don't like is the process you have to follow to attach them. Our dog rides in the camper so we have to attach the steps multiple times per day. You attach the steps to the mounting bar....sort of a rectangle with one of the long sides missing....using a 1/4 pin on each side. It works...and it doesn't take that long.....but it's alot of fumbling around to get it done. And it's clumsy at best for one person to do it by themselves. Torklift needs to do a better, simpler more elegant design. One other thing....unless you always are on flat level ground....make sure you get the optional leg levelers...one for each side. They will help you avoid that broken arm!!!

Nothing has really changed after another year. Steps still function great. Theyre still well attached to our FWC Fleet and they are still a PITA to fumble around with to attach them. I will likely never keep them permanently attached as I feel that the steps ....our couple year old version anyway....are not well designed for that and I would be concerned about the potential for over straining the attachment points and the attachment method wooden frame of camper with lag bolts on the camper because of over the road vibration. I still suggest that Torklift redesign the pin attachment method for connecting the steps to the attachment frame....wider, pointed pins with a wider hole to put them into and a correspondingly wider frame and attachment bracket to the pins into. If any of that makes sense. That would make the process simpler and easier....especially in cold weather andor the dark and it would be considerably stronger. Still...all things considered.....Im glad we have them. Even with the described flaws, I have yet to see anything better.
