Will Torklift GlowStep Camper Scissor Steps Work for You?
Scissor steps are typically installed on truck campers. The GlowStep scissor steps from Torklift are simple to install. After the initial installation, they're also easy to attach when needed and detach for compact storage. To ensure you choose the correct size for your application, there are a few measurements you will need to take.
The Torklift GlowStep scissor steps have a single mounting bracket that attaches to either the camper wall or the truck bumper beneath the doorway. To decide which size you'll need, locate the space available for the mounting bracket on your application and measure the width and height. You will need a mounting space of at least 20" wide x 1" tall.
Once you have an approximation of where the mounting bracket will go, the spot you chose will be used as the "mounting point" to determine how many steps you will need.
How Many Steps Do You Need?
To decide on how many steps you'll need, measure from the mounting point to the ground. This is called the entry height. The entry height should roughly match the height of the steps when they're fully extended, and it will tell you how many steps you need.
The chart below displays entry height measurements in the first column. The step part numbers with the 21-1/2" mounting bracket width are in the second column.

How Do You Install the Steps?
To install the steps:
-Make sure the assembly is centered beneath the doorway
-Secure in place with included lag screws
Add any of these accessories to your GlowSteps for stability, eliminating gaps, and keeping your steps and RV interior clean. The GlowGuide handrail (TLA7621 - sold separately) attaches to the outside of your RV and a bracket on the bottom of the steps. This helps to steady the assembly and adds 25 lbs to the weight capacity of the stairs. The SafeStep vinyl barrier (TLA7602 - sold separately) easily fastens with Velcro strips in between any 2 steps. This prevents you or your pets from accidentally slipping between steps. The DirtDestroyer boot brush (TLA7603 - sold separately) affixes to the bottom of the steps so you can scrape your shoes before climbing into your RV.

Hello, neighbors. Steve here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at the TorkLift GlowStep camper scissor steps. And this particular model is a four-step model in aluminum and it's 20 inches wide on the steps and rated at 350 pounds. So getting into it, folks, these pull-out steps make it super, super easy to get in and out of your towable or your truck bed camper. The nice scissor design lets you manually collapse and fold them up for travel.
And it's so simple. Just fold 'em up. You've even got a little set screw back here on the backside. Whenever you got 'em fold up enough, you could put that in there and they're not going to get loose on you. You can see the stainless steel hinges on the side.
They're bolted together. It makes it easy to add or remove one if you wanna remove one or replace a single step. And I'll fold these back out real quick. Okay, and they are made in the US. You're doing their entry height of 31 to 38 inches tall.
And again, the steps are 20 inches wide by six inches deep. And again, rated at 350 pounds. And they are made of an aircraft-grade aluminum and stainless steel construction. And like I mentioned about the stainless steel hinges as well. So very nice feature.
Now coming in from the top, you can kind of see they've got the built-in tread. That's gonna give you nice footing. So if it's wet, damp, snow, that kind of stuff, that'll give you some extra tread. And if you notice these little pieces of green tape, those are what they call their glow tape. So they can glow in the dark up to 10 hours with only five minutes of light exposure. I'll shut the overhead lights off. Hopefully you can kind of see that. And from a different angle, hopefully you can kind of see those lit up there. And I'll turn the overhead lights back on. So again, folks, you're gonna get everything here that you see before me, the steps. You're also gonna get a set of hardware. Lemme go back from above. I'll show you a little better. So I left it in the bag just 'cause there's a lot of bolts and nuts here and I'm kind of mocked up here on the step. So I wanna point out real quick, these little teeth kind of looking washers. Those are the only thing different than this image here, and that's what you're gonna get. So those star kinda washers, I was just mentioning, that dig in and kind of help hold everything tight, that's the only addition to everything here on the screen that you should get as well. So installing it, mounting everything should be pretty simple for you. So again, these are the TorkLift GlowStep camper scissor steps. Again, a four-step option. I'm Steven.
