What Gas Detector do I Need to Replace My Old Atwood Model LP_DOB Part 31013 in My Airstream?

I am looking for a replacement for my airstream propane detector Atwood model LP_DOB part 31013 In my research, I believe to have the older model 2.5 inch wide by 3 7/8 high, with replacement being 36720. Do you have an alternative. Curious about your RS44FR or RS64FR? Or any suitable alternative that would fit this hole size. Thank you.

Hello Greg,
Yes, you will want to go with the RV Propane Gas Detector - 12 Volt - 2 Wire - Black # RS44FR or white # RS64FR as a replacement for your Atwood model LP_DOB part 31013. These detectors include different size mounting brackets, so they will cover your existing opening without any issues. If you wanted gas detector with carbon monoxide then # RS54FR for black, and # RS34FR for white.
You will also need some butt connectors for the installation. The Deka Heat Shrink Butt Connector - 16-14 Gauge - Nylon Insulation - Blue - Qty 5 # DW05744-5 will work great for connecting the wires if you do not already have some on hand.

I replaced my Atwood Propane and CO detector with a RS54FR in my 2018 Keystone Passport Trailer. It was an easy job to replace. And the new unit has worked just fine, and the original cutout hole was covered nicely with the supplied mounting bracket. Very pleased with the result.

I used this to replace the same propane detector in my Airstream Basecamp. The mounting brackets that came with this detector covered the existing cutout perfectly.
