This Yakima BaseLine system gives you a complete setup right out of the box—two 60" JetStream crossbars, four BaseLine towers, and a custom fit kit. With a 165-lb weight capacity, it’s built to handle everything from large cargo boxes and canoes to camping gear and paddleboards. The strong aluminum construction keeps things sturdy on long drives while staying light enough for easy handling.
The aerodynamic shape of the JetStream crossbars helps keep wind noise and vibration down on the highway. Push-down rubber strips in the top channels close around your mounts and smooth out airflow, so you don’t get that constant whistling sound that can come with other racks. The strips also seal the channels when not in use, giving the bars a cleaner look and quieter ride.
Some racks make you cut and trim rubber strips every time you mount an accessory. With this setup, you just press your hardware into the top channels—the rubber strips push down automatically. There’s no trimming or fiddling with loose pieces, which makes installation faster when you’re ready to load up bikes, skis, or water gear.
You can add Yakima Same Key System (SKS) lock cores (sold separately) to help deter theft of the rack. It’s an easy upgrade that lets you secure both crossbars and towers with one key for peace of mind when your vehicle’s parked overnight or at a busy trailhead.
The black aluminum bars resist rust and weathering while keeping a sleek, modern look. Each bar measures 60" long x 2-3/4" wide x 1-1/8" tall, giving plenty of space for multiple mounts at once. Whether it’s kayaks, a roof box, or fishing gear, this rack is designed to stay solid under load, trip after trip.

How's it going Acura owners Today we're gonna take a look at the Yakima JetStream roof rack on our 2023 Acura RDX. Now adding a roof rack rack to your RDX is gonna allow you to get more cargo area, 'cause vehicles this size generally don't have a lot of space. It comes outta premium. So this is gonna allow you to get that bigger, bulkier gear on top of your vehicle and allow you to take advantage of that negative space. So let's see how it's put together, how to install it and how well it works. First thing that sticks out to me is the fact that these bars are shaped like a plane wing, like on an airplane.
And what that does for you, it helps cut through the wind to reduce the wind noise that you experience from crossbars. Another thing that's really cool about this guy, it has an integrated T track slot that allows you to use your T track accessories. Now, your towers themselves are made of the same types of plastics that the automotive manufacturers use on the exterior of your vehicle. So it's gonna hold up against the hottest heats in the desert and the coldest temperatures in the northeast. So you don't have to worry about that cracking or fading or failing on you.
Another thing that's always a good upgrade to, if you're thinking about security, is switching it out to the Yakima Single key system lock cores. Now with the towers, they do sit up kind of high, they contour to the roof pretty well. One thing that I would point out is you do have enough clearance to open your moon roof, but I wouldn't suggest it just based on the fact that you know you're gonna get a lot of wind noise just by the virtue of the bars being on top of the vehicle. Your setup super easy. All you're gonna need is a tape measure.
Everything else is included in the box and we'll be able to get this installed. So let's throw it on real quick. So as far as your setup, you just wanna make sure you have the right parts going to the front and rear. Your rear base clip system is gonna go on the back here and your pitching toe is gonna set to C two, and that's gonna allow you to make sure that it has the right angle for the curve of the roof. Now our front one, the kick for that is 154, and that's going to the setting for the pitch and toe is one A.
And that's all done right in here. So I'm just going to kick this guy right here to the angle for A, and then we're gonna slide it onto the track and fasten this guy down for one. So we're just gonna slide this guy right down into our track. There's just a cleat that you want to align, and it just slides right in. Now, going from our measurement, I can get this guy sat right here. And then this is where you're actually gonna tighten down that bolt into the position and you're just gonna angle it up and then fasten down until you hear your tool click. (metal clicks) All right, it is not a bad idea to take a tape measure and double check on your spread. And from here we're gonna put our pads on from our front base clip, and it snaps right onto the bottom. But you just wanna make sure that this cutout is pointing towards your door. And we're just gonna push that guy down. And now we're gonna take it up to our rooftop. And you definitely want it to sit like right here along your holes, well, your gutter rather. And now we're gonna install our clip and it's exactly where we need it to be. We're gonna install our clip. Now this small bracket in here is where it's gonna hook in. It's gonna slide it in and feel it, grab it. Now, right here, I'm a little short, so I'm gonna extend it some so it can get down to the lip of our door seal. And now we're gonna tighten this down until we hear to click. Now, one thing that I found with these, well, just about all of the roof racks, they kind of tend to pull. So you want to go from side to side before you completely tighten it down. And from here, your last step is slapping on your covers and installing your optional lock cores. If you want, you take advantage of the Yakima Single key system and now you're equipped to add on those bigger, bulkier items to get out there to your adventure. And once you get to your adventure, we would love for you to share your photos because we just love having that interaction with you. Now again, this is Ed with etrailer.com taking a look at the Yakima JetStream roof rack on our 2023 Acura RDX. Have a great day.

Fast delivery. Yakima roof system for my 2017 Tahoe was perfect.
Very sturdy hold with a matte look and fine textured feel. Very light making for easy install.
So far so good. Purchased these towers to use on a 2022 GMC Canyon with HD bars that I already had, primarily to carry my canoe. Yakima's fitting instructions worked perfectly and the whole system seems really solid.
Nice solid crossbars and perfect fit for a Thule Hullivator kayak rack.
Ordering was a breeze. Fast shipping. Excellent communication. Product arrived well-packaged. Product easy to install; completely as described. Yakima products are superior-performers. etrailer is an excellent source for truck & trailer products.
I had a need for the Yakima Crossbars and Towers for my Expedition. With a short delivery time frame, I contacted etrailer knowing they are the best. Justin B. worked with me to get the correct parts then made sure that the products arrived in time, it did. The Towers, Bars and overall excellent customer service from etrailer made for a great experience. Thanks again for exceeding expectations etrailer!
Excellent solution for my 2023 Chevy Silverado. In the past, I have had rails installed on the roof of my pickup trucks, but I find the BaseLine towers to be a better solution, since they don't permanently change the truck. Plus, they are much more solid than SkyLine system on the rails.
Love my Yakima roof rack!! It exceeds my expectations.great product. Also thank etrailer for the tec support! great staff always there to help thanks again!!
All aspects of the purchase and installation were great. Based on the information provided on the etrailer.com website, I had a high level of confidence that I was purchasing the correct product(s) for my vehicle. The installation was relatively simple and straightforward and the rack is rock solid on my roof. It appears that I did a great job of following the directions :)
High quality bars that were easy to install to the Skyline towers and work great with our Yakima JayLow kayak carriers.
The bars are sturdy, aerodynamic and super strong. I bought this to fit a Yakima Skybox 16 and these worked great. The measurement ticks on the bottom assist with getting the box centered and have a great gasket system that you fit yourself. These mounted pretty quick even in 20 degree weather.
etrailer sold this as a set based on my car and every piece was great and a perfect fit. Communication and tracking info was great and they delivered it a day before promised.
These Yakima crossbars are a part of the Yakima towers I bought to install on my Jeep Cherokee to hold a pair of Kayaks. They fit great as advertised. In fact I got these discounted as an open box. I would have never known, they look brand new. Thank you etrailer for your great advice, customer service and quick shipping process.
My roof rack was for my Prius V. Following all directions, the roof rack went up fine and fits tightly...no worries there. And, the rack just seems too far forward because it slopes down. I can probably adjust this out by widening the front slightly and pushing the whole rig back maybe 6" to a foot.
Basically, it is a workable rack and salvages parts from an older rack. It does what I want.
I waited several weeks for roof rack to arrive after ordering online. I am accustomed to Thule racks, but could not find any towers/bases to fit the 2019 Santa Fe. Once here, the Yakima rack mounted with ease and I look forward to hauling kayaks or basket on the roof.
Thank you etrailer.
Customer service was excellent, they called me to tell me one item was backordered and how long it would be. Package was shipped with enough packing material. Install was pretty easy, some of the Yakima measurements in the manual are a couple inches off but no big deal. This will be used to carry a box for when the family takes trips. Can pile all the luggage up top and have more room in the car. I would recommend the Yakima corebar roof rack and etrailer! Their price was lower than 2 other sites I checked.
Excellent product. These bars are very quiet and look great on our truck. Assembly and installation was straightforward. We've used these bars to secure our large Yakima car top carrier and have traveled on several trips to the mountains and cabin with no issues. I suggest ordering an extra set of end caps as we've lost one in the car wash. However, have had no problems with the bars when going through the car wash.
As always, I GREATLY appreciate the superior product support that etrailer.com provides. They have the best product content on the web, hands down.
1 year later and still love my Yakima JetStream system. I've mostly used them to transport my kayak however I've also been able to transport some big box store items as well. They are very versatile. There is a t-track option as well as wrap around attachments. I've use ladder attachments, eyebolts, and Thule Hullavator in t-track. I've used Malone MegaWing and Yakima Skybox as wrap around attachment. What I really like about the t-track system is that you do not need to cut out the rubber track insert. You simply slide over the rubber, which allows you to adjust your system, on the fly, to load what you need to carry.
Really easy to install & work as specified. So happy with the customer support/service at etrailer.
Great UX for finding the options matching my car, and the baseline towers work great. Simple straightforward site, will plan to use them again when needed.
For those also buying crossbars for cars without roof rails, recommend taking a silver sharpie and marking the placement of the crossbars on the weather seal at the top of the door openings. Makes putting them back on way less of a hassle if you don’t want them on 24/7.
The product itself was excellent. However, it came with no installation instructions showing how to remove and replace the shorter cross-bars. Fortunately, my son-in-law who is an engineer and very knowledgeable figured it out and did the installation.
Product exactly as expected. Quality bars. Using on a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. Looks great installed. Little to no wind noise. And, as usual, top notch service by the etrailer crew! Have purchased several items from etrailer over the past 10 years and have always been impressed by how timely they are and how responsive and helpful they have been regarding product questions. They are absolutely the first merchant I go to when shopping on line!
The Yakima rack system for my 2015 Ford Fusion is an awesome product! I hadn't needed to buy aftermarket racks in many years. These are a super solid, beefy, and very well made product. I am very impressed with the quality and fit. Yakima has obviously put lots of design time into them. And etrailer does an outstanding job of making sure you get the right product for your specific need.
I chose this rack specifically because of the spread between the bars - 32" - and for the higher weight limit, as I'm carrying a fishing kayak.
Not a bad setup. I dont believe you need the 60" bars i received as they hang over the edge of your Hyundai. You need to watch your head getting in and out of your vehicle. The Jetstream crossbars are very loud at speeds over 65 mph. Im probably used to it by now, but it is definitely noticeable. Much louder than an older Rhino Rack of similar dimensions i had. Install was simple and took about 30 minutes, just take your time and measure correctly like all roof racks.
Great product haven’t had any issues with it. Would highly recommend that anyone that’s looking for a roof rack system and a great seller at etrailer
