Question:
Looking at installed pictures, it seems that all of the retractable covers cover the bed pocket tie down locations. Is that the case? I use them to tie things down that I need to place on top of the cover when closed at times. I have a 2016 F-350 short bed with a Demco Auto Slide 5th wheel hitch. Is there any issue with canister size when the trailer is hitched up? Thanks

Hey Tim, welcome back! That is indeed the case with the top of the bed rails. The Pace Edwards Bedlocker Retractable Hard Tonneau Cover w/ Explorer Series Rails item # 311-BEF6985 will block the stake pockets on your 2016 Ford F-350. You can use the Eye Bolt Kit item # IN37FR to add tie down points to the t-slots built into the side rails though.
Additionally, the T-slots on the Bedlocker Tonneau item # 311-BEF6985 are designed to work with roof rack crossbars and other accessories. This would be a better way to haul things on top of your cover. To add a set of crossbars to these tracks, I recommend the Yakima 60 inch JetStream Bars item # Y00426, along with the Landing Pad item # Y00221 (you need 2 sets) and Towers item # Y53TR.
The Bedlocker Tonneau item # 311-BEF6985 is confirmed to fit your 2016 Ford F-350 with a 6-1/2' bed. The canister measures 12" tall x 10-1/4" deep. You will have no compatibility or clearance issues with your Demco Auto Slide 5th wheel hitch.
What do you typically haul on top of your tonneau cover that needs to be tied down?

With a short bed i can lay 10' conduit and long items diagonally on the tri-fold tonneau and secure it with the nice pop up tie down brackets that I installed. I hate to lose them and have to buy more accessories when what I have is great and rated for a lot of capacity. Oh well.
