Question:

Kayak roof rack for 2016 Prius V? I have a set of Yakima roof bars dating back to 2005, with a set of Hully rollers and a Mako saddle. I need a new set of towers to mount this equipment on my Prius V . Is this possible? My bars are rounded and they fit into the round spaces on the towers that I have, but my towers are made to slide into tracks on a car roof. Since I have the whole set I would prefer not to have to buy a whole new set. Thank you, in advance, for any help you can give me.

I can help you find the items you need to complete your roof rack. You will need the following items:

You can use your existing round crossbars, provided they are at least 50" in length. If you have the 48" crossbars you will need to replace them with the Round 58" CrossBars for Yakima Roof Rack System (QTY 2), part # Y00409. This roof rack will have a weight limit of 165 lbs and you will be able to use your existing lock cores. I also recommend removing the accessories from the crossbars before you start the installation.

I have included product description links and video of this Yakima tower and fit kit being installed on a 2014 Toyota Prius V below. The crossbars are different, but Yakima's crossbars now attach with an adapter. Your rack is exactly the same except you will be using the round bar adapter instead of the adapter for the elliptical shaped crossbars.
