To mount a rooftop tent to your Prius you're going to need to install a set of crossbars first. I recommend going with the Yakima JetStream Crossbars # Y00425 with the BaseLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars # Y28TR & the fit kit # Y06117 & # Y06174.

These bars measure 50" long and has a dynamic (moving) weight capacity of 165 lbs, however when you're static these numbers are much higher as the weight will be over the axles.

For a tent, I recommend going with the Thule Tepui Foothill Rooftop Tent # TH37HJ. This tent installs onto your crossbars and has a 2 person, 600 lb capacity so it'll be more than enough to handle just you.

I also recommend that you verify your roofs weight capacity as well before committing to anything.
