Hitch Pin Hole Depth

Note: For proper installation, this rack requires your hitch receiver to have a minimum distance of 1-1/2" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the face of the receiver.

Adjustable, Padded Clamps

Thule T2 Pro XTR folding and tiliting design

The DoubleTrack Pro XT's adjustable frame clamps move up and down the central mast independently to grab your bikes by the top tube, the downtube, or even the seat post. The inner jaws of the clamps are padded to help absorb road shock and vibration and prevent scratches and scuffs.

Sliding Wheel Cradles

Thule T2 Pro XTR folding and tiliting design

The wheel trays have cradles with ratcheting straps to secure your rear wheel to the rack. The cradles slide along the tray to accommodate bikes with a variety of wheelbases. To secure your wheel, run the strap over the rim and back down through the strap buckle and pull tight. To remove your bike, press the quick-release button on the buckle and undo the strap.

HitchSwitch Lever for Easy Tilting and Folding

Thule Helium front-mounted hand leverThule T2 Pro XTR cable locks

The rack tilts down with your bikes loaded. So, whether you're at the trail or the grocery store, you don't have to remove your bikes to access your cargo area. It also folds up when not in use. This leaves a smaller footprint, so you can keep the rack on your vehicle to park in your garage. And if you want to remove it, it doesn't take up as much space to store it.

Thule Helium front-mounted hand lever

To tilt the rack down, reach through or around your bikes with one hand, pull up on the HitchSwitch lever at the base, and lower the rack with your free hand.

Complete Security

Thule T2 Pro XTR folding and tiliting designThule T2 Pro XTR cable locks

The ratcheting hooks have lock cores in the release buttons so you can secure your bikes to the rack. Once you've positioned the hooks to secure your bikes to the rack, use the key to lock the hooks in place. It also includes a threaded hitch pin that helps eliminate rattle in the hitch receiver during transport. A lock on the hitch pin secures the rack to your vehicle. It's keyed alike with the lock cores on the hooks, so you only need to use 1 key. Additional One-Key System locks (sold separately) let you make all your Thule products keyed alike.

Threaded Hitch Pin and Hitch Adapter

Adapter Sleeve

The rack includes a threaded hitch pin that helps eliminate rattle in the hitch receiver during transport.

Thule DoubleTrack Pro Removable Adapter

The rack also works with both 1-1/4" and 2" hitches. To use it in a 1-1/4" hitch, simply remove the adapter with the included Allen key.

The assembly instructions graphics are small and difficult to see making it a bit of a challenge to assemble. The product quality is good and met my expectations. It took about 30 minutes to assemble so all in all not bad considering the instructions.

by:

Very nice rack, especially for those who use fenders and racks. I especially like that it works with all tire sizes. Very solid. Much better than the old Thule rack that it replaced. E-trailer service is the best out there.

by:

Solid product, and fits a wide range of bikes. We've got two bikes with fenders, and one is a small, aluminum, step through frame (large tubes). I had no problem adjusting the arms to securely hold both bikes.

by:

Very solid bike rack. Very easy to install. Look forward to using it.
Your customer service is spot on!!

by:

The rack is awesome. The customer service has been tremendous - I have received prompt, efficient help regarding a missing piece. I couldn't believe how quickly my rack arrived from etrailer. Only downer (NOT etrailer's fault): Thule's "wordless" (pictures only) instructions are pretty useless.

  • Recommendation for Transporting Bikes While Flat Towing Vehicle
The Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-4 referenced in your question is designed specifically to allow you to use a bike rack while towing your vehicle behind an RV. The center of the hitch pin hole on the adapter that will be used for the bike rack extends 9-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole on your hitch receiver. I have attached an image to clarify this dimension. The issue though with using your Thule Doubletrack Bike Rack # TH990XT is that it is not actually...

  • Recommended 2 Bike Rack For 2013 Honda Fit Sport Where Trunk Mounted Racks Wont Fit
I reached out to my contact at Thule and they confirmed they do not have any fits for your 2013 Honda Fit Sport Model. They said the reason is the factory spoiler is not strong enough to support the straps. All of our manufacturers exclude the Sport model for this reason. My recommendation is to use the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11064 and then use the Thule Doubletrack Pro XT Bike Rack # TH92BJ which is a confirmed fit along with the support strap...

  • Differences between Class III and Class IV Hitches
The main difference between a Class III hitch and a Class IV hitch is the capacities they set for the hitches. Class III hitches are rated for up to 6,000 lbs GTW with 600 lbs TW whereas a Class IV is rated for up to 12,000 lbs GTW and 1,000 TW. For more info on the hitch classifications check out the link I attached.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch and 2-Bike Rack for a 2010 Ford Mustang
For your 2010 Ford Mustang, I recommend using the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11048 which is a Class I hitch with a 1-1/4" receiver tube opening. As long as you do not have the GT/CS, California Special, Shelby GT, or GT500 edition then this hitch will work well for you. It is currently the only option we have for this vehicle. In order to maintain the lifetime warranty, you will need to use part # 18050 for all non-towing applications like a bike rack. Then for a bike rack, I...

  • Does Curt Trailer Hitch for 2010 Nissan Cube Require Stabilizing Strap for Bike Rack
I can confirm for you that the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11202 for your 2010 Nissan Cube does require a stabilizing strap for use with a bike rack item # 18050. So you can use this rack and hitch combo on your Nissan. The Thule Doubletrack Pro XT Bike Rack # TH92BJ is a great choice for a bike rack because it offers a ton of value. It is a premium rack from a company, Thule, known for their quality but at a great price relative to other racks.

  • Can Thule DoubleTrack Pro XT Bike Rack Weight Capacity Be Increased
Hey Brian, thanks for reaching out! The Thule DoubleTrack Pro XT Bike Rack # TH92BJ and the wheel trays, like part # 853-7481 you're looking at, are only rated for 35 lb bikes and there isn't a way to increase that rating. If you have heavier bikes then we'll need to get you squared away with a bike rack that can better handle the extra weight. • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver to Fit a 2014 Subaru Outback Wagon
I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "direct fit" because all three of the Class III trailer hitch receivers we carry for your 2014 Subaru Outback are custom made and designed for your vehicle. The hitch that has the most factory-like look is the Ecohitch, part # 306-X7162. Once installed all you see is the open receiver tube under the rear bumper of your Subaru. Take a look at the picture I attached. The downside to this hitch is the install requries the bumper to be temporarily removed...

I can help you pick out a bike rack that will be compatible with your Curt 1-1/4 Class I hitch # C11065 on your 2011 Volvo C70. The first thing we know is that from the center of your hitch pin hole to the edge of your bumper will need a rack with at least an 8-1/2 inch clearance. The Draw-Tite # 24857 for your 2008 BMW is only rated for Class I. This means the only options to have your bike rack fit are the # HTAD or the # HT5R that are compatible with Class I hitches. You will limit the 200 lb tongue weight capacity of your hitch to 100 lbs because the adapter will reduce the hitch's tongue weight by 50%. That new 100 lb capacity will need to include the weight of your bike carrier as well as the loaded bikes. I also recommend using a hitch lock like # e98880...

  • Why Yakima HoldUp Bike Rack Is Not Rated For RVs
Bike carriers that are designed to work on the rear of an RV are made so that they can take the additional stress at the back of the RV. Yakima does not recommend using the HoldUp Rack on RVs because a bike rack mounted on the rear of a motor home will be subject to more shaking and jarring than would be experienced when mounted in the receiver on a passenger vehicle. This is primarily caused by two factors, the distance between the rear axle of the RV and the receiver, and the stiffer...
