The product is 5 star, packaging and shipping is a 0.
I am not sure how this hitch extender ever made it to my residence due to the lack of proper packaging (see photo.)
When the package arrived, I did not need to open the box, I only had to reach throught the hole and pull it out. This is not the first time I've had issues with etrailer packaging.
When I ordered the extender, the screen showed I would receive it Saturday. Received it 3 days later.

by:

Works well, however the extension is a little sloppy when added to the hitch.

by:

This extender fit the bill. It is extremely sturdy and comes with a hitch pin. Totally recommend.

by:

The shaft length of a standard insert for a receiver hitch was too short to allow towing a 96 gallon trash can because the trash can lid was wedged against the tailgate of the ATV. The hitch extender has added sufficient length that the lid hinge can be dropped onto the trailer ball without being wedged against the tailgate.

Still working as intended with no downtime or difficulties.. also useful as an easy tiedown point when transporting the atv on a flatbed trailer.

by:

This was exactly what I needed to make my hitch work on a Grand Caravan. The adjustable hitch was too close to the bumper after installing the Curt receiver hitch.

You will want to keep in mind that using an extender will reduce the capacity of your hitch by half.

by:

Great. Extended my hitch just enough to keep my truck bumper from hitting my v-nose trailer. It greatly reduces the weight ratio, but length works out great.

Actually I bought a superduty and took extender out. Went with new B&W hitch on new truck. But the extender worked great on the f150

by:

We’ve using this product for a year, with an e-bike rack. It works great! 10k miles plus, cross country.

by:

I purchased this extension to use with my front end Curt Class 3 receiver hitch. This setup was installed for use of my Warn Wench that is installed in a portable receiver cradle that I use on either the front or rear of my truck. I chose this extension because of the solid shank that made it stronger than most other I shopped. As all extensions reduce the hitch weight rating, this one provided the least amount of reduction. I am very happy with my purchase and it works as advertised.

by:

Worked!! Heavy duty!

by:

Great product, excellent website, very user friendly (the "how to" videos were especially helpful in making sure the product I was ordering was the right one), highly responsive customer relations department. The hitch extender worked correctly the first time, and fits perfectly with my new Thule bike rack (see photos). I highly recommend eTrailer!

Excellent adapter for my bike rack on my camper. Needed this to get past the spare tire. Awesome quality product.

by:

super fast shipping and worked perfect as described this was for my personal lowered c-10 1970 step side I wanted my hitch hidden behind the lic plate and was having some clearance issues with the plate as it had to flip up not down to clear my hitch We use the m a,lot at work for hitches trailer parts ect with supply chain issues they take the time to call you and offer other solutions if not in stock for your on online orders excellent customer service

by:

I got this for my side by side as the receiver was mounted too far underneath the unit to be practical. This adapter moved it out to just the right spot. I use my SxS to move my trailers around my property mostly, & it works great.

by:

Received the 8” extension and it does exactly what I needed it to do. Matches up nicely with the Curt hitch on my SUV. Now I need not worry about how closely my trailers come to the rear end. Fast delivery and great support.

by:

The extender worked as expected. No iss ues

by:

The hitch extension is heavy duty and I’m extremely happy with the quality. Service was superb and received the product in 2 days. Happy, happy, happy. Before and after photos are included.

I just wanted to provide you with a heads-up that using an extender like the # C45791 will reduce the capacity of your receiver hitch by 50 percent, as mentioned on the product page.

by:

Put a receiver underneath my travel trailer and I needed to Ring the receiver out 8 inches from underneath the trailer and it fit perfect and it’s heavy duty And with the anti-rattle device I got from etrailer it works perfect.

by:

This extender worked perfectly. It is the perfect length to clear the spare tire on my Jeep. I haven’t noticed any problems with the additional tongue weight that this supposedly adds. It’s a better solution than removing my spare tire. I’m pulling a 17.5 foot bass boat.

by:

Great product, very heavy duty. Allowed me to mount bike rack behind a large Jeep tire. Easy ordering and quick shipping.

by:

Way too much play between it and the receptacle. I use it for a bicycle rack and the whole thing wobbles too much. I still use it, but it's unnerving.

by:

The shipping was very fast and it was packed with care. Much appreciated.

by:

Heavy metal, fit current hitch well. Good extention for Thule bike rack.

by:

Right product...Right price...Excellent service as usual.

by:

I received exactly what I expected in good time.

by:

Perfect. !! I have a 2017 Ford Expedition and I needed this for my front hitch.

  • Can I Use My 2 Aventon Adventure Lectric Step-Thru E-Bikes With the Sport Rider SE # HLY84FR?
From the sounds of your question, I assume you are talking about the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE # HLY84FR. If this is the rack you are referring to, yes! It works with 20" diameter tires as long as you have the adapter # HLY24FR for each bike. This adapter does not come with the rack itself. This rack is a great choice because it has a super high 80 pound per bike weight capacity. It also accommodates fat bike tires up to 5 inches wide (if you have them). As far as your step-thru...

  • Will the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack Carry Two 80lb Bikes and Clear a Spare Tire?
The Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack # HLY84FR is capable of carrying 2 bikes up to 80lbs per bike. As you have a spare tire on the back of your vehicle you are going to need either an Extender # C45791 or Swing Away Extender # Y02483 to clear the spare tire. The swing away extender is best if you have a rear door which swings open and would like to access it when you are using the bike rack.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch and Extender for Bike Rack on 2023 Jeep Wrangler
The trailer hitch that I recommend for a 2023 Jeep Wrangler is etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver part # e98856 as it has the longest receiver tube so it will offer the best clearance for hitch mounted accessories. This can then be combined with the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118786 for a trailer wiring harness. In most cases, you'd just secure the trailer connector to the safety chain loops on the trailer hitch but if you want it to look a bit cleaner...

For a bike with that weighs 75 pounds, the only hitch-mounted bike rack that can hold that weight is the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # HLY84FR. If you have a compatible hitch attached to your 2012 Toyota FJ Cruiser like the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75461 or the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13367, the measurement from the pinhole of your hitch receiver to the end of your spare tire is 6 inches - 8-1/2 inches. The M12x1.75 Anti-Rattle Bolt included with your Thule Camber 2 Bike Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting - Steel # TH9058 will fit through the 5/8" hole and threads into the bike rack itself so the extender does not need to be threaded. I have a great solution for you. Given that you have a total of 10 inches total from the pinhole of your hitch receiver to the edge of the bumper, you will have some bumper clearance issues. I confirmed with my contact at TorkLift that the measurement from the center pinhole to the closest part of the tray of the 24x27 TorkLift Lock and Load Maximum Security Cargo Tray # TLA7752 is only 6-1/2 inches. Currently we do not have any 12-14" extenders that are rated to tow the 8,000lbs you are needing to tow. Technically any additional length is going to increase leverage on the trailer hitch.
