Question:
Issue is that the Hitch Pin did not get great reviews on the etrailer site. Making me reluctant to spend that money with all of those negative reviews. Thoughts?

The Curt Hitch Extender # C45791 will give you an additional 8" of room (measured from hitch pin hole to hitch pin hole) though please keep in mind that an extender is going to reduce the capacity of your current hitch by 50 percent. So if you had Curt hitch # C13205, for example, on your 2017 Nissan Murano, its towing capacity would go from 3,500 lbs to 1,750 lbs and its tongue weight capacity would be reduced from 350 lbs to 175 lbs.
If you do have enough capacity even with the reduction, what you can do is use the Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # 63232 with the extender and use the anti-rattle device that came with your Thule bike rack when it is mounted in the extender. If your bike rack did not come with an anti-rattle device you may be able to use the Thule Snug-Tite # THSTL2 if you have a compatible rack. You did not mention which one you have so you need to check the product page to find out if yours is compatible.
I've also added links to video reviews of these parts for you to take a look at.
