Many tow systems require some sort of hitch accessory to either raise or lower your tow bar so that it sits level. To determine if your setup needs an adapter, hook the tow bar up to your RV and towed car and measure to see how close to level it is. The "safe zone" for a motor-home-mounted tow bar ranges from 3 inches above level to 3 inches below. Car-mounted models must be absolutely level. This high-low adapter can provide you with the necessary drop or desired rise to achieve a level tow bar setup.

  • High-Low Adapter For Curt Rambler Tow Bar
I've attached our guide for choosing a high/low adapter for your RV Hitch but for your case I recommend the Curt High-Low Adapter # C27KR. To attach your Curt Rambler Steel Tow Bar # C26FR to your Blue Ox base plates you'll need the Blue Ox Base Plates to Reese, Valley or Draw-Tite Tow Bar Adapter Kit # BX8833 adapter. In the video you're seeing two black safety cables, a dark blue electrical cable, a light blue air compressor hose for the specific braking system being used, and the disconnect...

  • Is There A High low Hitch Adapter That Provides 5 Extension, 2 Rise/Drop With Anti Rattle/Lock
I recommend the Curt High-Low Adapter for Tow Bars - 2" Hitches - 2" Rise/Drop - 8" Long Item # C27KR. For an anti rattle device with a lock I recommend Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2" Hitches - 2-5/8" Span Item # 63232. We don't carry a hitch extender that includes both an anti rattle device and a lock. You would have to purchase the anti rattle with the lock separate.

  • Ball Mount For 2 Inch Hitch With 13 to 14 Inches of Drop
While we do have a solution for you, there isn't an adapter like the Curt # C27KR that can be used to attach a ball mount; that is something used for flat towing and you can't safely use a ball mount inside an adapter inside a trailer hitch. So for towing your travel trailer what you will need instead is a ball mount that has the 13 to 14 inches of drop required to tow level. For your 2 inch hitch there is one option available with the correct drop, from BulletProof Hitches: - BulletProof...

  • High-Low Adapter For SnowSport LT Snow Plow
You should have no issues using the Curt High-Low Adapter # C27KR with your SnowSport LT. This adapter has quite a bit of capacity at 7,500lbs which will be more than enough for your snow plow. Keep in mind that this product should not be used to tow a trailer.

  • Can The Curt High-Low Adapter C27KR Be Safely Used For Towing A Trailer?
We should have a potential solution for you, but to answer your question, no, you cannot safely use the Curt High-Low Adapter # C27KR for this purpose. The Curt adapter is to be used for flat towing only and cannot be used for towing a trailer, regardless of weight. Are you trying to raise/lower the height of a weight distribution hitch? Generally this is done by using a shank with the appropriate amount of rise or drop such as the Curt Welded Weight Distribution Shank # C17123. I am...

  • Extended Ball Mount For Towing an Enclosed Trailer Behind a Motorhome
I have a couple options for you as the Curt High-Low Adapter 45797 # C27KR is only designed to be used with tow bars when flat towing. The Curt Class III Ball Mount with 2-5/16" Ball # C45065 is only 9-1/4" long from the receiver hitch pin hole to the ball mount hole. The Curt Ball Mount # D-28 also has a 6" drop like the other Curt ball mount but this mount is 14-1/4" long from the receiver pin to ball mount hole. That would gain you 5 inches without using an adapter. The ball mount...

  • Can Curt High Low Adapter be Used with Bike Rack
Hey Thomas, yes you could use the Curt High-Low Adapter # C27KR with your bike rack setup. This will put the bike rack out an additional 8 inches and can either raise or lower the rack setup by 2 inches.

  • Can You Use The Curt High-Low Adapter As A Winch Mounting Point?
Technically you could use the Curt High-Low Adapter # C27KR with a winch, however no more than 400-lbs of downward force can be applied to this adapter. Since line pull of the winch isn't always straight on the receiver, it isn't recommended for this application. Realistically, this adapter should only be used for flat towing situations. Instead, I recommend installing the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 31198 like you mention, but use the Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver Winch...
