Question:
I have a RAM 2500 and am looking for a way to extend the space between the tailgate and my Andersen Hitch for my travel trailer. What tongue weight will this product support? Thanks

The Roadmaster Anti-Rattle Hitch Extender for Tow Bars - 2" Hitches - 7-3/4" # RM-071-1075 has a maximum tongue weight of 400 pounds. The tongue weight is the downward force that the trailer exerts on the hitch. If you are looking for the gross trailer tow weight of the extender, that is 10,000 pounds. The gross towing weight is the amount of weight that pulls horizontally on the extender. This extender is your best choice because any extender we carry that is longer than 7-3/4 inches greatly decreases in weight capacity.
It is important to note that any time you use a hitch adapter or extender, you will reduce the overall tongue and towing capacity by 50% on your hitch. I recommend factoring in that 50% reduction to your Anderson hitch to make sure you have enough weight capacity to use on your hitch.
