Can Hitch Extender Be Used with Scooter Carrier

Question:
I would like to use the RM-071-1075 2 inch hitch extender for a scooter trailer that is 48 x 28 with ramp and weighs 63lbs and a 3-wheeler scooter that weighs 257lbs for a total weight of 320ibs. I have a 2019 Subaru Ascent that has a tongue weight of 500lbs, I want to make sure I am using this extender for the proper use? Thank You in advance for all your help. John

Hey John, the reason you can't use a hitch extender like the part # RM-071-1075 is they cut the capacity of the hitch in half and you'd be over capacity since 320 lbs is more than half of 500 lbs (250 lbs).
