Question:

Tell me if I am wrong, but Im thinking this makes the extension solid. My question for thievery, is there a locking anti-raddle. Thank You

The Roadmaster Anti-Rattle Hitch Extender # RM-071-1075 comes with the threaded bolt and pin. This threaded hitch bolt does indeed reduce noise and movement inside the hitch receiver, providing a more secure and quiet connection. However, there is not a locking hitch pin available that is compatible with the threaded hitch pin hole on this extender. A thief would need to have the correct wrench to remove it.

If you are looking to lock the extender to your hitch receiver, I instead recommend looking at the Roadmaster Hitch Extender # RM-071-75. This 2 inch extender features the same 7-3/4 inch extension but has a has a standard hitch pin hole that can be used with any 5/8 inch pin, such as the excellent Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # e98882. This stainless steel lock will help to deter theft with its patented, pick-proof screw-and-lock security. 2 keys are included.

The receiver lock itself will not provide the same anti-rattle properties as the above mentioned threaded bolt, but you can add an anti-rattle device like the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch # RM-061. This will keep this and any other hitch-mounted accessory stable and secure, helping to eliminate rattle and sway within the receiver. This will slide over the shank of the extender and the U-bolt will hook around the collar of your hitch receiver. Just note that your hitch receiver must have a ring or collar around it for this to attach.

I have attached a couple video demonstrations on these products that you can also check out.
