Question:
I bought a new power tongue jack foe my RV. My tailgate can no longer come all the way down without hitting the jack. I was looking for a 2 inch extension that was capable of withstanding a gvwr of at least 10,000 but would prefer even more just in case i upgrade to a bigger RV. Do you have one

Hey Leon! What kind of trailer do you have? We do have some extenders for a 2" hitch that have gross towing weight of 10,000 lbs like the # RM-071-1075 and # GY89SR. However, the issue with these is that they will reduce the capacity of your hitch by 50%. Since it is a 2" hitch it is probably on the lower side for that truck so 50% capacity might not be enough.
Do you know how much of an extension you need? Something like the Patriot Hitches Drop Hitch Stacked Receivers # PH73NR will not reduce the capacity of your hitch and it is possible to use this as an extension. This will give you an additional 5" or 6-1/2" depending on the hitch pin hole you use.

Hey Leon, did you figure out how much of an extension you need for your RV's power tongue jack? I'm curious if the Patriot Hitches Drop Hitch worked for you since it doesn't reduce your hitch capacity. Let me know how it went, as it could help others facing the same issue.
