This hitch is built for serious work. With a 2" x 2" receiver opening, it’s rated for 10,000 lbs gross trailer weight and 1,000 lbs tongue weight. When used with a weight distribution system, those numbers climb to 12,000 lbs GTW and 1,200 lbs TW. That means it’s strong enough for small campers, utility trailers, boats, and heavier loads without needing any extra reinforcement. It’s a solid fit for anyone who wants dependable towing performance day after day.
You don’t need a welder or special tools to get this hitch on your vehicle. The fully welded, square-tube design bolts right onto the frame using existing holes—no drilling or welding required. The complete hardware kit and clear instructions make it a straightforward install that can be handled in a driveway with basic hand tools. It’s the kind of setup that makes DIY installation practical and frustration-free.
This hitch is made from powder coated steel for durability that holds up to years of use. It’s finished with a gloss black powder coat over a rust-resistant liquid A-coat inside and out, giving it extra protection against corrosion from road salt and moisture. That high-gloss finish keeps it looking sharp while the open-back receiver design makes it easy to keep clean after muddy or wet trips.
The visible cross tube design keeps most of the hitch tucked out of sight, leaving only the receiver showing below the bumper. That means you get full towing capability without a bulky look hanging off the back end. It lines up neatly with factory mounting points for a factory-style appearance that blends in while still being ready to tow whenever you need it.

Fast delivery and perfect fit
Great product, price, shipping and customer service!
The box was destroyed with big holes in it. Not acceptable
Arived on time and easy installation. All parts fit with mo adjustments necessary
Nice hitch easy installation
Nice product; handles tongue weight’s that exceed the factory receiver. Super straight forward, easy install.
Product as described. Just like other reviews have said, my box came destroyed too. Saving grace was the hardware was taped very well to the hitch. Good quality.
The hitch is definitely heavy duty (also heavy) but it hangs about 6" down below the bumper. That would not be a problem except for dragging in rough terrain. The paper instructions were not too good but the video from etrailer cleared it all up.
Follow the video and it bolts right up. Very heavy duty.
The package came a lot sooner than I anticipated! I’m happy to have received it earlier than expected. It will fit my 2023 F150 XLT perfectly.
Was easy to follow the video and install
I thought this would be a replacement of the stock receiver but it is designed to mount underneath the stock receiver which looks terrible and would most certainly reduce the departure angle for off-road use. I didn't install it and had to take a big loss selling it on FB because I waited too long to return it to E-trailer. A better option if your stock receiver is worn out is to buy an aftermarket bumper and a new receiver that will mount in the same place as the stock receiver. Live and learn.
Hitch receiver is a welcomed replacement for the OEM receiver that had a crack on bottom corner of about 5”. It did require an additional pair of hands and a floor jack, but bolted up nicely. So glad they included the “bolt chasers- couldn’t have done the job without them. Very satisfied with this product. Look forward to towing trailer next spring in safety. Thanks
Cammi at customer service was very knowledgeable and immediately gave me my options for me to make an informed decision per my specific needs (trailer tongue weight requirement over factory installed receiver hitch).
I will not hesitate to call/order with etrailer again!
Delivered on time and easy to install. The only "issue" was that the hole in the hitch receiver for the wiring harness was a little too big, so the harness could not be reattached. But that was nothing that a couple of zip ties couldn't fix. I did need to borrow a 15/16" socket for my torque wrench, because my set only went up to 13/16", and make sure you have a torque wrench that goes to 180 ft-lbs. But once I had the tools I needed, it took less than 30 minutes.
2021 F150 and this fit perfectly. Video explained exactly how to install it and went up with no issue. You definetly need a second hand. I tried to install by myself with a jack to help as a second hand and it just did not work well.
Excellent option if you've got an F150 with a stock hitch rated for less than the truck is rated. Now I can utilize the full 8k tow rating for my truck!
Straightforward installation, the video on YouTube is better than the written instructions that it comes with. My stock 17" LT spare fit back up with no problems. You lose a little clearance right under the stick hitch.
Was able to install with 1 person, used floor jack to support. Full size OEM spare fits for 18" tires - but tight fit - cant have a larger spare. less then 5 stars as the fit is a little short - should be 1/4" wider. Hitch does not meet metal to metal on the lower brackets, even with the spacers installed. The spacers are loose behind it because of the short length.
Worked great with aftermarket bumper, of you need clearance for a taller bumper fits right up !
Ford's factory hitch is pathetic if you don't have the max tow package. This hitch has twice the capacity of the factory setup when not using a weight distributing hitch. The install is a bit of a pain, but that's not all the hitch manufacturer's fault, the holes in the truck frame are just hard to access. Curt could make the directions a lot better though, the tiny black and white photos are not very helpful. Make sure you know where all 8 washers and spacers go before you start fishing the bolts through. Once you pull a bolt inside the truck frame with the fish wire, you're not going to get it back out easily.
Clear instructions, solid build and everything you need for the install less your torque wrench and sockets are included. My transmission jack made lifting and alignment a breeze.
Great product, fit my truck perfectly. I have a 2016 F150 with a Tommy Lift instead of the rear bumper and gate. I wanted this design as it sat down a little lower and I wanted to clear the lift. The lift attachment brackets were a little in the way of the hitch receiver, but nothing a grinder couldn't take care of. It does sit a litle low, but it may just be my truck with the extra weight of the Tommy Lift.
Great hitch, mounts good with original hitch. My OEM hitch was starting to break welds and bend as we were needing to tow around 8k pounds on my f150. This hitch never had any problems, never showed signs of stress even though I was pushing its limits. I would recomend getting a drop hitch and flipping it upside down to get a raised hitch to make up for the lower receiver. Highly recommend. I put it onto the truck myself, it’s possible, (would recomend a helping hand).

Wow Juan, install looks great! I am sure this information will be most helpful in the future for someone who also has a Tommy Lift, we definitely do appreciate you taking the time to write the review =) What are you mainly going to be hauling around with the new hitch?
