This fully welded trailer hitch receiver bolts onto your vehicle's frame with no welding required. Powder coated steel is sturdy and corrosion resistant.

by:

very good quality and easy to install. the holes for the bumper are 2 inches lower but i used a longer bolt and have been pulling trailers since

by:

Installed without much frustration on my 2006 Chevy 1500 long bed single cab. Looks clean as the bulk of the receiver is hidden behind the bumper. I used the HM40975 4/7 pin combo trailer connector with this and used self tappers to attach it directly to the receiver frame. Meets my needs for occasionally pulling a utility trailer with a lawnmower or atv for about a year now. Also pulled a couple heavy loads of firewood on a 16 ft tandem axle with no issues.

Just pulled tent trailer this Easter weekend. Hitch and wiring hook up did its job. I like how hitch design in hidden, so only receiver and wiring socket is visible on my silverado chevy pickup. Thanks

by:
2006 Chevrolet Silverado

The service was great and the install on my 2006 Chev Pickup was a piece of cake. It fit like a glove. I went from the original class 3 (??? Maybe even a class 2) hitch to a class 4 because the old one from the factory started to wear out in the lock pin area so we had movement back and forth when we started up. The new one from etrailer was twice the thickness then the old one. I also purchased a new lock pin since my old locking pin was also worn where it went thru the hitch and receiver.
Very happy and it only took my friend and I 1 hour to install using air tools..

2003 Chevrolet Silverado

I bent the stock hitch on my 03 Silverado. Ordered a C14332 it arrived in a few days. Straight forward installation. Much heavy duty than the stock round tube hitch. The reciever opening is approximately an inch higher the the original hitch.

by:

Ordered Monday, received Wednesday. Hitch came in heavy duty box but still punched through and had a hole in it. Hitch receiver was wrapped and protected where it punched through, so no damage.

Perfect for for my 2005 Chevy Silverado Crew Cab 1500HD. The existing hitch was heavily rusted and came out easily.

Installation was very easy and instructions were spot on and accurate.

by:
2005 Chevrolet Silverado

Easy install. A lot heavier than the stock hitch and looks great.

A year later, still satisfied. A nice, well built hitch that works exactly as expected.

by:

Has been a solid unit and I have zero complaints. Ordered, shipped, and arrived when expected. I’ve been pulling my 7500 lb boat and trailer with no problems. Also aesthetically pleasing - it ticks inside and is not your grandfather’s hitch that is clearly seen from down the street. Would buy again for another truck.

by:
2002 Chevrolet Silverado

Everything came as ordered, Quality of everything that’s very good. This will be my go to place for anything I need for a trailer

by:

Bought this trailer hitch to replace the original one that came with the truck, to upgrade to a class IV from OEM class III.
All hardware except a mounting plate for the trailer wiring were included.
The installation was a simple bolt-on with all nuts, bolts, brackets of higher quality than the OEM hitch. Perfect fit no re-drilling required. After a year of use still looks like new, the powder coat is holding fine to New England sand and salt road conditions.

Still very happy with this hitch, now on second year and looks like new almost. No issues of any sort to highlight.

2003 Chevrolet Silverado

I recently ordered a receiver hitch to replace my older, (rusted), one. Two of the bolt holes did not line up with the bottom of the bumper on my '03 Silverado. Got the other six in fine but the two in the bottom of the bumper are about 3/4" too far forward, and there is no way to get them in without bending the bracket on the hitch or loosening the entire bumper to move rearward. Shipped fast, excellent looking, heavy duty item. That's why I gave it a "good."

I’ve purchased multiple items from etrailer and their products and customer service are always excellent. The class IV hitch and new 7-way plug arrived in four days and fit perfectly. I’ll definitely use them again.

We are really happy with our purchase. The hitch performs as advertised. It was missing a couple small parts when it arrived, however, etrailer's OUTSTANDING customer service immediately shipped us the tiny parts needed. Thank you. Will definitely check here for trailering needs because of excellent product, good prices, and outstanding service.

Fantastic. Safety of my trailered animals is 1 priority - I have 100 confidence in the security of the hitch.

by:

Very thick steel and heavy duty. I wish they made one that extends further on the frame of the suburbans because these frames have a weak point that will bend. However that's really only if you overload your rig severely. This hitch does extend several inches over the frame vs the stock unit. Overall this hitch is monstrous and your truck will rust in half far before this hitch fails. Very easy to install, great support from both curt and etrailer with technical questions and product support. I know first hand that curt will take care of any missing hardware from shipping carelessness etrailer was able to get this shipped and delivered within days, just in time to install for a vacation we were taking. Very much appreciated the knowledge and fast service. I regularly tow an 8500# camper and this hitch gives much better confidence than the stocker. You'll have to add a mount for the wire plug but it isn't a big deal with a couple tap in rivets or can be spot welded like I did. Overall very satisfied with this American made product.

by:
2002 Chevrolet Silverado

Ordered the Class 4 10,000lb tow capacity hitch to replace the Chevy Class 3 5,000lb hitch that was installed since new. Emailing customer service to stay updated on the delivery date was very responsive and helpful.
When the hitch was delivered there were some packaging rips/tears of which I expected with such a large heavy metal item. There were some scratches in the paint on the sides of the hitch but overall in decent condition. The gouge and metal burr (I had to file this off) on the face of the receiver 2"x2" opening was a bit concerning and I couldn't see this happening in shipping as there was a "wad" of heavy duty stranded thick tape covering this area with a bag of hardware attached...which leads me to assume that it was shipped from etrailer in this condition? Quality escape. It wasn't hard to remedy with a file and some black paint but none the less-shouldn't have to do this on a brand new trailer hitch straight out of the factory. Also, the mount holes didn't align "true" to the frame width wise so I had to spread them out (pulling/pushing) for awhile until the mount bolts threaded in. It is for these couple reasons that I gave an overall rating of 3-Average. The hitch is good and solid on the frame and should give us many years of safely towing the boat/camper to fun destinations.

You're right Clark, you shouldn't have had to go through that trouble on a new hitch. Let me help make this right for you. I'll get a paint credit sent over to you right away.

by:

Struggled some to get the bolt holes to line up. One bracket was bent toward the center as if it had been dropped. Took about 45 minutes of additional work that would not have been necessary. Once I got over that frustration, I really like the hitch. Solid construction at a good price, fast shipping. Would reccommend to others.

by:
2000 Chevrolet Silverado

Looks great can't wait to bolt to truck and try it out when all this rain stops and things dry out .

by:
2002 Chevrolet Silverado

The Hitch receiver is exactly as depicted in the photos which is what I had wanted. Very difficult to find this Category IV hitch. Thankfully etrailer had it! A great price too.
Have not yet installed it but suspect it will go on fine based on the shape and bolt pattern. Also in the Q&A page was another person with exactly the same question I had about fit for a 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500HD. Construction is what I wanted, heavy duty steel, all welded, and paint looks like it will hold up. Shipping package was very good, a competitor shipped a hitch to me that had no packaging and it was scratched and minor damage......But etrailer had a nice box and proper packaging inside. This will serve for hauling our 2 horse trailer and I needed a little extra tongue weight and GTW capability.

by:
2001 Chevrolet Silverado

The hitch still looks as great as it did the day that I installed it. It’s been around a year now, and it’s been working great for when I’ve needed it. It’s been used for hauling cars, wood, and ATVs.

etrailers had the best deal when I bought this, they shipped everything quickly, and their customer care service is awesome!

by:

Nice hitch, the finish looks like it will stand up to the Michigan/Ohio winters I put my truck through better than the stock hitch. Super easy installation, it went on with no problems in about 30 minutes. With the Hopkins wiring connector - which also went on quickly, plugs right into the stock trailer wiring hitch - it's a clean installation, better than stock.

by:

It has been a year now and It's perfect. If your thinking about which brand to purchase this has been a great hitch. I pull alot of different trailers including a 20' with a backhoe on it and this has been perfect.

by:

Product was delivered very fast and was a breeze to put on. From the box to installed in under 30 minutes by myself. The only slow down was the crud in my bumper weldnuts from years of not having a hitch. This was an excellent experience and I would recommend if you need a hitch or just want to replace the factory original.

by:

I ordered this to connect an electric wheelchair carrier for my husband. My son put it on our truck. Per him, it was easy to install. He had no problem. Everything lined up where the bolts went.

by:
2006 Chevrolet Silverado

Fit like a glove went on perfectly! Definitely a game changer for my towing! Definitely recommend. I ordered Monday at the end of the day and it was here the very next day by 3pm. Best purchase I've ever made for my truck.

There are heavy-duty Class V trailer hitch receivers that fit your 2004 GMC Sierra 2500 LD, though the hitch you mentioned is only a fit for the 2500HD model.
