Question:
Im looking to buy a whole hitch set up and I was told you guys are the best! I drive a 2002 Silverado 1500 single cab short bed with a 4.3 and a manual transmission and a standard bumper ball. I couldnt find definitive numbers on towing capacity of my truck, but I need a hitch that can handle whatever my truck can haul. Can you recommend a hitch and all assorted parts to get me the most towing capacity out of this tired old truck?

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C14332 is a fit for a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 (All Configurations) and what I recommend using. The 10,000 lb or 12,000 lb (With Weight Distribution) towing capacity will far exceed the towing capacity of the vehicle so there will be no issues here.
In regards to the wiring, the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C55774 comes with multiple connections, offers plug-in-play installation, and come with a bracket so it's what I recommend. The etrailer Ball Mount Kit part # 989900.
In regards to towing capacity, this can be found in the owner's manual but let me know if you need help.
