Question:
Hello, on my 2004 Silverado 1500 I have an aftermarket bumper. I see that this hitch Curt C14332 has the holes to bolt the hitch into the bottom of the OEM bumper in the middle, as does the OEM hitch. My question is, are these hitch to bumper bolts required to be installed and/or will it affect the rated capacity if they are not installed? I do not believe they would make a difference as the OEM bumper is light duty anyhow, but just want to make sure. Thank you

I have the perfect option for you in the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 13339 which is a confirmed fit for a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 model and actually designed specially for models with an aftermarket bumper. As you can see, there are no mounting tabs to attach to the bumper so you will not have any worries here and the receiver tube has a deep drop to clear larger aftermarket rear bumpers. The above Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver is actually the only option we have that is designed for models with an aftermarket bumper.
If you were to try and use the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C14332 you could have issues with the receiver tube hitting the bumper and the warranty would be void as the two bumper bolts are required for installation.
