Hi Allen!

We have a bunch of hitches for your 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500 Regular Cab 4x4 with the 4.8 and long bed. With that said, here are the two I recommend:

etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e98849
Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class IV - 2" # C14332

The etrailer hitch technically is a little underrated for your truck (towing: 6,000 pounds - tongue weight: 600 pounds), though it does go higher when using weight distribution (towing: 10,000 pounds - tongue weight: 1,000 pounds). However, I do really like the matte finish we use on our hitches as it makes the hitch blend in better than the gloss finish other brands use. If you are only towing lighter loads, this is the hitch I would go with.

If you are regularly towing heavier stuff though, the Curt hitch is going to be the better option. Without weight distribution, it can tow up to 10,000 pounds and has 1,000 pounds of tongue weight capacity. This goes up to 12,000 pounds towing and 1,200 pounds of tongue weight when you are using weight distribution. It is definitely the heavier duty out of the two, but it is more expensive and it does have that gloss finish.

What are you typically towing?
