Install looks great, Jon! What kind of plans do you have to use the hitch for?
2026 CRV Touring Hybrid. It went on just like the instructions said. one man job, but I had a small floor jack and to jack stands to help get the hitch in place. Fascia cut sizes are spot on with the exception that there is an inner and an outer bumper fascia that need to be cut. I searched all over for the sensor for the auto trunk release. It is located between the inner and out bumper facia, Black on black and impossible to see. So yea, I nicked the sensor with my Oscillating cutter. I guess the sensor does not work anyway once you put a hitch on so no real lose. Also, you don't have to cut much off of the plastic undercarriage panel. Just open it up an inch so it goes around the tow loop and hitch attachment. The rubber muffler hangers are way harder to get back on than getting them off.

Hey Jerry! If you can get that wire patched up/fixed, in most cases the sensor will still work. You'll just need to wave your foot a few inches to the left or right of the receiver tube, and maybe a couple inches further behind the bumper. If you do that, the hands-free liftgate feature should still work.
I am very pleased with this hitch receiver. It works very well with my Sherpa 2.0 bike rack and with the small cargo trailer for surf boards. My Honda does not have a rack on top of the car, and I prefer to carry extra behind the vehicle rather than on top. For anyone in the same situation, I highly recommend this sturdy hitch receiver.
etrailer also helped connect me with local installers for this product. I thought I might be able to install it myself, but there are some mechanics tools that I would have had to purchase and learn how to use. If you’re not an automatic, plan to pay for installation. The installer that etrailer helped me find charged a very reasonable price, much lower than the shops I contacted just to make sure I was getting the best value.
This hitch receiver and installation experience were far beyond my expectations!
Installed the Curt Trailer Hitch on my 2022 Honda CRV to tow my motorcycle down to the Tail of the Dragon, had ZERO issues on the drive. Installation was very simple with a few tools and some patience. Design and overall look is outstanding, way better than OEM. 10/10 would recommend!

The customer service is great. The actual trailer hitch received was not an exact fit for the 2018 Honda CRV. Part of the bumper needed to be cut in order for the hitch to fit. The hitch rides a little higher than others that I would have paid a little bit more for. So, the tradeoff was that the hitch was a little higher which is a benefit however I would have preferred having an exact fit so that the bumper did not need cutting. I would recheck the specs on the bumper I ordered and check with the manufacturer. Other than that, the price for the bumper was a plus.

I double checked with the manufacturer on this one, and while like you said, maybe not ideal, trimming the facia is needed for this to install. I appreciate your honest opinions on the hitch, too! And thanks for sending a photo :)
I installed my hitch on a 2025 Honda CRV Hybrid. Install time was 2.5 hours since I did it by myself. All 4 holes lined up perfectly. The install video was very helpful. Not the prettiest install since I made a wood ramp to drive up on and I used a floor jack to raise once side of the hitch.

This is the fourth or fifth time I've bought a trailer hitch for one of my cars from Etrailer. (I lease a car for my wife about every three years). What a great service you provide! The installation videos are great. I will say that this one was the most challenging by far because I had to drop the exhaust and I had to cut (hopefully Honda will not care when I turn the car in) but I got it done.
It’s a great trailer hitch. Installing it was a 5 out of 10 being the hardest. Very strong and sturdy. Wiring the flat 4 was easy enuff. Does exactly what I need it to. Small trailer, bike rack, luggage rack etc.. great value
This Curt trailer hitch receiver is a great addition to my 2026 Honda CR-V hybrid sport L. The installation went well with one exception. The dimensions given in the instructions for the Fascia trim diagram aren't correct. The dimensions should be 1/4 inch bigger in both directions. The additional trimming I had to do added at least 45 minutes to the process, as the hitch was already bolted in place and I had to work around that. This is the fourth hitch I've purchased from Etrailer, and have been happy with all of them.
Not a great fit for 2025 Sport L Hybrid. I went with an etrailer curt hitch after having a great experience with a previous vehicle. This one is very difficult to get properly into position over the four mounting bolts, which makes me wonder about fit and quality control. The fascia cutting diagram is for the previous generation vehicle and is therefore not as intuitive. Last, there was a wiring harness on the drivers side that had to be moved out of the way to make room for the hitch, which was mentioned nowhere in the paper instructions (for a previous generation vehicle), or in the etrailer install video (for a non-hybrid current gen crv). You risk damaging the wiring trying to while trying to get the hitch into place if you aren’t careful.
The instructions were wrong. The modification to the bumper and related bodywork required much more clearance than stated and required additional modification mid-assembly. This was difficult to do.
The hitch itself seems very well constructed and I like that it does not hang below the bumper.
This item fits the CR-V trail sport hybrid model. Shipping was fast. I had Honda install it due to the slight modification needed to the bumper and dropping the exhaust. It's holding my kuat bike rack nicely.

The hitch fits exactly as advertised, but the DIY install did take more than the implied 60 minutes. My car is the Hybrid sport touring with the kick sensor so maybe was more difficult because the the rear trim. I had to remove the kick sensor to install the hitch, but I will try to fit it in now that the hitch is installed. The install instructions were clear except that the trimming required to the rear trim piece was not clear, I got some good dimensions from a search on the web. I was able to do the job on my own without a lift, but it would have been much easier on a lift and with a helper. I know not everyone has access to a lift, but I do recommend lining up a helper before starting. Once you start you can't really stop as you have to lower the muffler down, so you can't drive the car until you are done. Lowering the muffler was not too hard, soaping up the mounts really helped.

I did get the kick sensor re-installed but it doesnt seem to work as well as before. Hitch is great and we use it to travel with our bikes.
Installed it with the help of my brother and dad and we crushed it in an hour. The lil guide wire they give you for the bolts with the kit is a huge help and made the process a breeze. I use it for my bike rack and the hitch accessory stabilizer also reduces the rattling to nothing.

when I sold my Rav-4, naturally my Hitch went with the car. I recently
acquired a new vehicle which was a Honda CR V, so then I knew that I could count on Etrailer for a new Hitch for my Honda CR V. Its on the
Honda SUV now and it wVehicle orks great. I had a professional install it and

Installed myself on 2021 Honda CR V gas.
Everything is good except the bumper cutout specification in the instructions. The instruction specs, as I understand them, place the cutout a little too far to the passenger side. This becomes evident only when the hitch is mounted. The cutout had to be expanded after the hitch was in place.
Note: No printed instructions are enclosed with the hitch. The only instructions are printable online instructions.
Worked well. Great instructions for installing. Tough job to install on a 2025 Honda crv, but the instructions are parts that came with it made the job possible. Thank you eTrailer!
We bought the hitch for our 2025 Honda CRV so we can add a bike rack when traveling.
The hitch was easy to install. The instruction for the install provided by E-trailer were easy to follow and described the task well. The hitch is a perfect fit and works well for our application.
This bike rack system is very sturdy and secure. We don’t feel worried that our e-bikes are going to fall off because of a rack failure. The ramps do aid in getting the bikes on the rack but they don’t work as effortlessly as anticipated. Overall, we are satisfied with the gear and extremely satisfied with the customer service we received. The office staff and mechanic team were friendly, knowledgeable and kind. We have recommended Etrailer to several friends and strangers who see our rig while traveling.

Glad to hear everything is still working well for you! Well, except the ramps being a bit difficult to use. Can I ask what is going on with the ramp?
It will fit the CR-V Sport Touring with hands-free liftgate. I removed the kick sensor (3 phillips screws and a connector) to modify it without damaging it. I had to removed the black cable from a couple retainers that would get cut and wire tied it in place after making the necessary cuts (sorry I forgot to get a pic with the wire ties). I also removed the phillips screws on either end of the bumper fascia to (near the exhaust trim) which really helped with pulling it down when installing the receiver. GL!

Installed as designed. Someway painful getting into position with a single person. Recommend addition of an arrow on installation diagram displaying the original tow hook location to ease cutout procedure. Instruction pics are blurring and the location of tow ring is critical to make accurate cutout. I noticed the hitch drop bracket contains welds on the exterior side only. Is that normal or QA issue? Im a novice metal worker and would have welded the interior drop brackets to add strength to the weakest link. Pic attached

I checked with Curt and that is by design. All of them are like that and it will still have its 3,500 lbs of towing capacity and 525 lbs of tongue weight capacity. This was how it was welded when it was strength tested. Might look a little weird, but you can trust it. What are you wanting to use the hitch for?
Just got done installing this and the accompanying wiring harness on my 2024 CRV LX AWD. First off, all the props to the driveway mechanics who handled this job solo. I've been doing the maintenance and mod work on my own vehicles for many years, and I know when I need help. The mounting part was definitely a two-person job for me. Second, Etrailer's lightning fast shipping and very helpful vehicle-specific installation video made for a great customer experience. Only a few call-outs in my case:
1. At least on my model (gas LX AWD), the only permanent modification I had to do was a 3" cut on the underbody panel to allow it to clear the tow hook. No material was removed, just cut it down the middle with normal kitchen scissors quite easily. I did not make any cuts or remove material to the rear fascia as suggested in the instructions, and the result is the trailer hitch pinching the fascia a bit but it's hardly noticeable visibly and has no impact on performance/clearances.
2. The plug for the turn signals and brake lights was tricky to find, as it wasn't just dangling freely like the video showed, at least not on my model. In the photos, I tried to detail where the plug is by taking a series of photos. The connector is close to the top left-hand side corner, secured to a wire bundle with a strip of brown tape. You'll need to remove the tap and free the white connector and connect it to the trailer wiring harness. Then plug in the supplied fuse, and then I secured the etrailer wiring box to a wire bundle with the supplied long zip tie, and ran the cable out through a handy 3" x 4" access hole in the side panel.
3. I used a set of ramps to raise the rear end up and then my hydraulic jack to support the exhaust after I dropped it from the hangers.
Very glad I went the e-trailer route, most of all because I didn't need to make nearly any permanent cuts to the car.

etrailer delivers again, $[XX]ish for a hitch and wiring, the wiring was plug and play as they stated. Two things to note: 1 - I ran the wiring out the rear of the cargo floor area, just needed to use a dremel to widen a hole a little bit for it to fit through, then cut that rubber gasket and silcone to seal it well. 2 - be CAREFUL when cutting the hole in the bumper bottom, if your car has the hands free rear kick sensor you need to push a wire out of the way before you start cutting!! Also note, impossible to get a torque wrench above the muffler on the hybrid version. I removed the rear exhaust hanger and the one in the middle of the car, it was tight but just used a regular wrench. The CRV had the hardest hangers to get off on any car I did this on before, so hard and tight spaces to work in. Looks good and wiring worked as well.
