Best Hitch For A 2025 Honda CR-V To Carry The Thule Apex Bike Rack TH9025XT

Updated 07/15/2026 | Published 07/09/2026

Question:

Hi there, I have a 2025 Honda CRV Hybrid sport. I want to get a hitch receiver that will fit the Thule Apex XT Bike Rack for 4 Bikes. Is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2 a good hitch receiver to work with the Thule Apex bike rack? Thank you

Hi Simon!

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13397 will be an excellent choice for carrying the Thule Apex XT Bike Rack for 4 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches # TH9025XT on your 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport model. The hitch has plenty of carrying capacity and the Apex only weighs 35 pounds, so there will be absolutely no issues with pairing them together.

The only thing you will want to be aware of is the Apex does fit both 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, so you will need to keep the adapter on the shank. This can also cause a little bit of movement in the rack, so make sure you get it nice and tight when you are putting it in the hitch (it has a knob for this, so it's pretty quick and easy).

What kind of bikes are you going to be carrying?

Should be great, I have a 2021 I installed the hitch on, easy to install. I have a Thule bike rack that’s 30 years old and looks like the one you just bought, worked out good and does not rattle at all when your driving

@Wojo Oh nice! I knew a guy that road a Bianchi road bike back in the day. He did at least one Iron Man a year on it for the whole time I knew him. Dude was probably the healthiest human I have ever met. Anyway, have fun out there! ^___^
