This hitch gives you a solid way to haul light gear, small trailers, or mount a bike rack. With a 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver opening and a Class I rating, it handles up to 1,000 lbs maximum gross trailer weight and 100 lbs maximum tongue weight. The square-tube construction gives this hitch the sturdy backbone it needs for towing and hauling. Very quick delivery, the product met the description - this hitch works perfectly for our bike rack on our Chevy Volt. I'm a very happy customer.
Excellent receiver, second one i have purchased. Does take some time to install but works well after installation. Used primarily to carry bikes. Hitch went thru the carton., somewhat lose inside the box, there needs to be more protection for the receiver tube, it doesn't appear to be damaged.
Had the hitch installed at a local UHaul store, and I couldn't be more pleased. I use the hitch to mount a bike rack on my Chevy Volt, and it works perfectly.
The product was delivered quickly and was quality built. The instructions were easy to follow and the included torque specs were appreciated.
However, the only thing I would like to see included in this kit are washers or another type of spacer to fit in-between the space between the exhaust bracket and the frame of the car. There is a space left the thickness of the new hitch bracket that the original aluminum bumper beam bends around as you tighten down the M8 exhaust bolts upon re-instillation. There are pictures another customer posted that show this issue. Otherwise a very easy install.
The underbody panel on the car also does not need to be taken off fully. Only the back row of M7 screws and Torx screws in the wheel wells need to be removed. When you put on the new hitch bracket you can just use the aviation shears and cut around the perimeter of the hitch in the fabric. Saves a little time. Very happy with this hitch.
This went on smoothly from their product standpoint and the video instructions were great. If only the vehicle manufacturer has made the bumper bar bolts spaced properly. I had to cut out metal from the aluminum bumper bar bolt holes to get it off.

Super easy to install. The trailer wiring definitely takes longer than the hitch does. I would recommend getting a right angle drill adapter for taking the torx screws out of the wheel well area. This allows you to not have to remove either of the tires. The shipping box was pretty beat up and the hitch was sticking through in multiple places. I didn't see anything that got bent though. One additional thought, they (Curt) should probably include some washers or some sort of spacer to place between the muffler bracket and nut after installing the hitch. Without it there is a fairly large gap.
As usual, Curt delivered a product that fit perfectly. This is the third hitch I've purchased from them and all three have been installed on different vehicle platforms. 4 star review would be 5, save for the point made below.
One area I wish they'd either have taken into consideration when designing the hitch, or provided a work around for. The thickness of the flange creates a gap when reinstalling the exhaust hanger bracket. I've attached pictures. one shows the gap and the other shows it 'filled' with 4 washers. Without the washers it is impossible to completely tighten the hardware and any attempt to do so will bend the bracket, potentially creating a failure point from vibration down the road. 40 cents at Lowe's fixed the problem, but including the washers and adding to the instructions would be a great step to take - are you listening ETrailer review readers? ;)
I've used the hitch to receive a cargo hauler, and 2" ball for towing our trailer. Very happy with the product and would recommend it to anyone in the market.
Came in a timely manner and worked just as expected. Watched YouTube videos to figure out how to install and went well. Worth the time spent and money saved installing myself
