Question:
Hey there, I was looking at this trailer hitch # C11436 and noticed that the installation difficulty is listed at 10/10. Do you have any tips for finding a good installer in the Washington DC area? Thanks!

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11436 will fit your 2017 Chevrolet Volt. It ranks a 10/10 on the difficulty due to the number of parts that need to be removed to install the hitch and the trimming required of the panels that the hitch will pass through. I have attached the video of the installation we completed on a Volt for you to determine if it something that you would feel comfortable doing yourself.
We do not have installers that we recommend but I suggest going to the Curt website as they have a tool that will match you with installers in your area. I just tested it and it pulled up several for my area.
I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118726 to be installed when you have the hitch installed. This will give you a 4-flat trailer connection for any towing that you may do, and will allow you to add accessory lights behind and cargo carriers or bike racks that may block your taillights.
