I just ordered a Curt receiver hitch and a Kuat Sherpa bike rack. Will this combination work together on my car. Is a security strap required?

I checked your order and the Curt Class I hitch # C11436 is a confirmed fit on your 2017 Chevy Volt. This hitch will be ideal for using the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 2-Bike Platform Rack # SH12P. You will need to use the Curt support strap # 18050 or a similar item to help stabilize the rack's weight on the car. This is a Curt warranty requirement.
