Question:
I have a Thule Raceway 9002 which I used on my 2013 Chevy Volt. I now have a 2016 Volt which has the same hatch back profile, but the tolerances at the top of the roof are so tight that I cannot get the hooks in. It doesnt create more space when the hatch is open, even all the way open. The hooks on the Thule Pro look to be the same as on the Raceway, so either way the hook, because of its curvature, cant be slipped into the roof seam. Might you have an answer to this question?

As of right now we only have 2 trunk bike racks fits for the 2016 Chevy Volt. We have the Yakima FullBack 2 Bike # Y02634 or the FullBack 3-bike version # Y02633. I have attached the installation Thule doesn't even have it in their fitguide at all. I am imagining there are not thule fits based on the fit issue you are having. I have attached the installation instructions for the 2-bike FullBack. If you go to page 4, it shows you an anchor method that will work with the fullback if you are unable to get your hooks into the top of the hatch. This is how Yakima solved the issue that you are having.
Another option for carrying a bike rack, and in my opinion your best option, is a hitch bike rack.
The most popular bike rack we carry that has been confirmed to fit this vehicle is the Thule Camber 2 part # TH9058. We asked our demo and install guys to name their favorite, most easy-to-use bike racks and this one showed up in nearly everyone's top three. Check out the review video I attached for more info.
If you plan on carrying any women's or alternative framed bikes without horizontal top tubes you may also be interested in purchasing a Kuat Bike Frame Adapter Bar # UB01 to provide a horizontal top tube on your bikes to provide an attachment point. I attached a review video for this product also. This will allow the bikes to be carried more level and will provide more ground clearance.
For a trailer hitch confirmed as a fit you would want the Curt part # C11436.
