  • Connects quickly and easily - no cutting or splicing of wires
    • Locate connection points either behind tail lights or along frame rail
    • Plug in T-connector
  • Includes a tail light converter to ensure that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer
  • Constructed of 16-gauge bonded wire

Specs:

  • Maximum amperage:
    • Stop/turn lights: 2.1 amps per circuit
    • Tail lights: 7.5 amps per circuit
  • 1-Year limited warranty

Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located on the driver's side and passenger's side, either behind the tail lights or along the frame rail. If your wiring harness is behind the tail lights, you will have to remove the tail light assemblies to gain access.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Tail Light Converter

A tail light converter is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. The tail light converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

I had been looking for a solution to securely add a 4 way flat connection and be able to plug in my Rear LED light bar to. The product was accurate and very easy to install in less than 15 minutes. All plug-n-play. Very happy with the final result. Thank you

Product has been flawless and functioning perfectly

I'll begin with the fact that I am not very handy. This wiring harness was perfectly engineered to be idiot proof. I was able to install the whole thing perfectly, without incident, in about 30 minutes. I do not have a trailer hitch receiver beneath the bumper. I just have a hitch ball on the bumper, so I fed the end through the spare tire crank slot. Everything works perfectly.

by:

This T-ONE wiring harness looks great, and talk about quick delivery, it was the best

by:

Fit the Toyota truck perfectly mated to each wire connector as expected !

by:

No problems, easy to install even for a 70+ female put wiring loom on all wires looks and works great.

Great services. trailer pulls great for my little truck. Easy to install hooks and hanging items inside. Prices are very competitive, this was the best price and seems like I got more for my money. Staff did great job explaining total weight my truck can handle with this trailer. recommend if you are looking for a trailer to give them a chance. I would expect you to get the outstanding service I received.

by:

The wiring system was pretty straight forward. The video pretty much said all I needed to know. I'd rather use this set-up than any guy at a hitch shop doing a quick splice to the wiring in my truck, any day. The only thing I did differently from the video was put my wiring in the black conduit that you can buy pretty cheap at any auto parts place. This change will keep the wires from chaffing and makes the whole job look more professional.

by:
2007 Toyota Tacoma

Oh my goodness! It was so easy to install the harness, and everything worked perfectly. The video was a plus. I will most definitely buy from your company again!

by:

The wiring harness was fairly easy to install and directions were spot on. I recommend using flex tubing to protect your wiring; better to be safe than sorry.

by:

As always ease of install with these kits. Just a walk in the park even taking my time and messing around in the garage for a bit while kit took ten minutes to install

by:

The perfect solution for my towing needs. A high-quality product delivered by a fast reliable service at a great price.

by:

I gave you a 5 star even though UPS tried to mess up your excellant delivery time. they sent it to the wrong PO so instead of getting it 3/17 it came on 3/20. it attached easily per instruction and video. the only improvement I made was to encase all the wiring in flexible conduit. when finished everything tested perfect. thank you very much.

I had received multiple quotes to install a hitch on my 2014 Toyota Tacoma. All were around $400. So I did a little research and found the etrailer.com site. I found I could buy the hitch, the wiring harness and ball myself for less. The installation video they provided me gave me the confidence I could do the install myself. Now it's on and the entire process couldn't have been easier. If you can use a socket wrench and screw driver you can install your own hitch. Piece of cake!

Excellent service from Christy. Poor service from UPS.

The wiring for my trailer hitch arrived very quickly. I had purchased the hitch a while ago and installed it myself using the instructions and watching the videos from etrailer. It was pretty easy. I had dreaded having to trace wires and have unsightly splices . The wiring fit perfectly for my 2005 Toyota Tacoma. Unplug the taillights, plug the trailer wiring in, put the taillights back on the truck. I also installed the trailer plug that allows me to use 4 pin or 7 pin wiring. That was pretty easy too. Just make sure you have some self tapping screws on hand. Would definitely recommend all the products i’ve purchased from etrailer.

by:

2014 Tocoma..The wiring install, went slower the the hitch install.
the main reason was the taping of the wires to the truck wiring and getting up and down. (time was 50 minutes)

Install the driver side first, only the plug is placed with the tail light,
install the passenger next, only the plug is placed with the tail light.
Tape the new wiring to the stock wiring, start with the tail lights and work down you will find you have just the right length of wire. I taped the 2x2 black connector to the wiring harness. If the wires were 6 inch's longer on both sides, I would have used the two sided tape and stuck the connector on the frame

I have used the the trailer connection on 5 different days for about 1 hour each time, two weeks ago I had to used the trailer to help move a friend of ours and it was raining so the lights was on all the time. the trip was 12 hours, there and 7 days of short trips and on the way home about six hours in to the return trip i stopped for fuel and when I started the truck I lost the tail lights and the brake lights, blown fuses. I stopped at a auto parts store and picked up some new fuses, when i turned on the lights the new tail light fuses popped and when I stepped on the brakes, the new brake lamps fuses popped. We stopped for the night, I will not drive a truck and a trailer at night without lights. The next day, and a hundred lighter, I got home, I disconnected the trailer and replaced the fuses. The fuses stilled popped. I opened the tail lights and disconnected the left tail light trailer connection and the fuse sill popped, and i disconnected the right tail light trailer connection and the fuses held. I will pull out the bad harness and replace it with a factory tow harness more money and more time to install but I no more problems and I will order a trailer brake to plug in to the stock wiring.

by:

Great part on time and I use it a lot I would recommend this part

by:

One year follow-up: The product works as advertised. No problems at all over the last year. Installation was simple and straight forward. One comment only about the optional mounting bracket for the 4-pin connector: get/use better self tapping screws before you attempt to mount the bracket. Even though I pre-drilled the supplied self-tapping screws are very soft and snapped off. I then relocated the bracket and used my own (hardened) self-tapping screws. Overall I'm very happy with the product.

Another year 2nd gone by and the T-One harness and connector are still working perfectly. I periodically spray the 4 pin connector with wd-40 to prevent corrosion maybe twice a year. The contactspins look good and work perfectly.

I installed this wiring kit ( Tekonsha 118496) on a 2007 2 wheel drive Tacoma. All components appear to be of decent quality and everything fit and worked as it should. I added protective covering to the wiring running underneath the vehicle to the right side tail light and to the 4 flat plug. When looking for a kit, I was impressed with the information and reviews supplied by etrailer. Compared to wiring a trailer hook-up from scratch, this was a breeze! Shipping was reasonable and took less than 2 weeks to get to Canada.

Easy to order, intuitive website. Package deliver in just a couple of day, well wrapped and with all the components in it. Here’s the best part, unlike the Reese hitch which is advertised as a 30 min installation but could take the regular Joe two hours with a helper and over that by himself, this harness would take less than 30 minutes thanks to the YouTube video with clear step by step instructions. Btw, delivery is only 4 bucks. Highly recommended.

Products great, Service is great, Delivery service is great, but the guy in accounting that won't give us a a Professional Auto Repair Shop a wholesale account because I said a few curses of words, who is part of the cancel culture and discrimination of expression well he is not so great. And I can keep respectively making this commentary on your reviews with each and every review and not one person in management does anything about it. I suspect ettrailer is more about greed, control, is not about the relationship, but the money. I think they think they are good enough. You ask for my reniews but you really dont care... So from now on it will be nothing but one-star reviews.

I tried to get your attention over and over being nice with 5 star reviews but telling you the guy in accounting is a thin skinned moron with customer interaction. And my curse words had nothing to do with him but the demand from him of something I could not at that minute provide him. So it was about a circumstance and not a personal attack, and countered a solution for us to contact hoim back with the validation for the account but he rejected us. Hung up on me, and still to this day no one has followed up. So Thank you for being just good enough, and not GREAT!

We have a couple of options for mounting a 4-flat connector to your Tacoma's hitch. If you have a Draw-Tite hitch with the built in tab all you will need is the Mounting Bracket for 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector item # BK4F. This attaches in the pre-drilled slots. If you have a hitch with a round or square crossbar you will need the No-Drill Mount for Electrical Mounting Bracket item # 18140 and the item # BK4F.

Hey Phil, It's ok to see 12 volts on one specific pin (pictured below). It means that whoever wired it ran a line to the battery so that the 12v hot pin on your tow vehicle's 7-way can charge the trailer battery a bit while you tow. Power sitting in the wire can drain the battery but it's such a low amount that it would take a long time to really drain the battery.
