For your 2021 Tesla Model Y I recommend the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180. The echo plugs in line with your existing 7-way at the back of your vehicle. It is controlled through your smartphone via Bluetooth. Since this does not require any wiring, it is ideal for an electric vehicle like your Tesla.
This is a proportional brake controller so the trailer brakes will activate in proportion to your vehicle's braking action. It also uses a triple-axis accelerometer to ensure smooth, uniform stopping action. I have attached a video review for your reference.
