Question:

I would like to add a brake controller to my 2023 Frontier. I don't have any trailer wiring or anything else right now. What do I need? Thanks.

Installing a brake controller on your 2023 Nissan Frontier will require a 7-way along with the brake controller itself. Since you do not have the factory trailer connector you will need the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56226. This plugs directly into the OEM tow package port at the rear of your vehicle.

For a brake controller, I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED24FR. The main unit installs out of sight so only the control knob will be visible in the cab of your truck. This gives it a nice OEM look that also won't take up additional space. The knob controls the braking power and also acts as the manual override. You will also need the # RED39FR wiring harness. This will plug into the port under your dash for installation.
