This harness plugs straight into the tail light wiring with factory-style connectors, so there’s no need to cut or use quick splice connectors. It’s the same style connection used by the vehicle, giving you a clean, reliable way to add trailer wiring without modifying the factory setup.
Installing the Curt T-Connector is simple and direct. You remove the driver-side tail light, plug the harness inline, drop the wires down, and run the green wire across to the passenger side. It all connects behind the tail lights, so there’s no need to chase wiring underneath panels or through the frame. Most people have it ready to tow in short order.
Once connected, you get a standard 4-flat trailer connector that powers running lights, turn signals, and brake lights. The solid connections help prevent voltage drop and flickering lights when towing. Keeping the pins clean and properly seated ensures all functions work as they should every time you hook up.
Dirty or loose connections are one of the most common causes of trailer light issues. The plug-in design helps seal out debris, and using dielectric grease can further protect the terminals from corrosion. That means fewer troubleshooting sessions and more consistent performance for your trailer lights.
For a neat finish, you can mount the 4-flat using a standard bracket like the Curt #18144 under the bumper. It keeps the connector secure, easy to reach, and protected from dragging or damage while towing.
