Roller Bunks

CE Smith's roller bunks convert your boat trailer's guide-ons from bunk board style to roller style. Instead of sliding on and off your trailer's bunk boards, your boat will smoothly roll. This not only simplifies the loading and unloading process, but it also protects your boat's hull against scratches. Mounted in a rust-resistant galvanized steel channel, the durable rubber rollers absorb road shock during trailering.

Installation

The roller bunks are pre-assembled and can be mounted directly to your existing bunk boards (mounting hardware is sold separately). If you want to replace your bunk boards and attach the roller bunks to the front and rear crossmembers of your trailer frame, use a four-pack of swivel mounting brackets (CE10003G-4 - sold separately). These brackets allow you to install the roller bunks at different heights. In addition, the brackets enable the bunks to tilt to accommodate and support boat hulls of different sizes.

Galvanized Steel

Steel parts are galvanized by being hot-dipped in zinc after they have been stamped. This creates a coating that is typically 3 mil to 5 mil thick. This thick, all-around coating allows galvanized steel products to provide years of use without rusting or corroding.

  • Recommended Upgrades to CE Smith Boat Trailer Model 48810
Upgrading the carpeted bunks on your CE Smith Boat Trailer to roller bunks like the CE Smith # CE27710 is a great way to upgrade the trailer. These will allow for much easier loading and launching of your boat and reduce the stress put on your hand winch during operation. These are 5-foot-long bunks that will work perfectly to replace the 5-foot bunk boards on the trailer. You can use the Bunk Brackets # CE10003G-4 to mount them to the trailer. It looks like the trailer is equipped with...

  • Is CE Smith Roller Bunks Capacity for Pair of Roller Bunks
Hey Gabriel! The CE Smith Roller Bunks # CE27710 have a capacity of 1,500 lbs for the pair. What you can use instead is the Dutton-Lainson Boat Trailer Deluxe Roller Bunk # DL21741. These actually have a capacity of 3,000 lbs for the pair and are 60" long so they will be perfect for your trailer. You will also need brackets like the # DL21742. If you need anything else feel free to reach out in the comments below.

  • How Would Roller Bunks Install on Karavan Boat Trailer
Since the picture you submitted belongs to Karavan I can't post it here on our site, but if you check out the attached picture you can see how a very similar trailer had a set of rollers like the part # CE27710 installed. For a set of swivel brackets like what you see in the picture that are holding the bunks you'd then want the part # CE10003G-4. I also attached a couple install video links for you to check out as well.

  • Can 5' Roller Bunks Be Used in Place of 7' Bunk Boards for a 15' Sail Fish Center Console Boat
We have had this come up before and the manufacturer stated that the CE Smith Roller Bunks for Boat Trailers # CE27710 would work for a 15' boat in place of your 7' bunk boards as long as the cross members are 56 inches or less. Which your 50" spread is. You can mount them to the existing bunk boards on your trailer or you can use the CE Smith Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assemblies for Roller Bunks # CE10003G-4.

  • Distance From Top of Roller to Frame for Dutton Lainson and CE Smith Roller Bunks
I believe you are asking about the height from the top of the roller down to where the bracket would mount on a trailer. The # DL21741 is 2-1/2 inches for that dimension and then the # CE27710 is 2-13/16 inches. These are both hot dipped.

  • Comparing Dutton-Lainson and CE Smith Roller Bunks
There isn't a whole lot of difference between Dutton-Lainson roller bunks # DL21741 and CE Smith roller bunks # CE27710. Both have 5 foot long sections. Each section is rated for 1500 pounds. There are 6 rollers per section on both. Both are made with galvanized steel and heavy duty black rubber rollers. The main difference besides price is the shape of the rollers is not exactly the same. Either set can be mounted on a bunk or independently. To mount independently you would need the...

I would be happy to compare the Dutton-Lainson Roller Bunks item # DL21741 and CE Smith Roller Bunks item # CE27710 but there's not that much of a difference. Both are 5 foot long and have 6 rollers per section. Each section is rated for 1500 pounds. Both are made with galvanized steel and heavy duty black rubber rollers. • Recommendation on Replacement Boat Trailer Bunks with Roller-Bunks
Yes, can replace your current wooden bunks with a set of roller-bunks, like the CE Smith Roller Bunks # CE27710. Upgrading to roller-bunks will improve the loading and unloading of your boat. The roller are made of a heavy-duty rubber that will not only absorb the shock when loading and unloading your boat, but the rubber roller will protect the hull of your boat from scratches. CE Smith roller-bunks measure 5 feet long and will have 6 rollers installed on each bunk. The bunks have a...

  • Recommended Boat Winch, Trailer Jack, and Bunk Boards for 27 Foot Carver Boat and Trailer
For your 27 foot Carver boat, the weight you referenced will put us into only electric options. Typically for boats, there is a ratio of 2:1 on the capacity of the winch. Our Super Heavy Duty Hand Winches fall slightly below that ratio, so a nice electric winch will be your best option. I'd suggest we go a little bigger than that ratio to account for steeper inclines and other variables with the Bulldog Winch Trailer Winch with Wire Rope, # BDW15019. It's 1.8 hp, permanent magnet motor...

  • Can I Use Roller Bunks and Carpeted Bunk Boards Together on Boat Trailer
I'll start off by saying that I've seen quite a few boat trailers that use a combination of rollers like the CE Smith Roller Bunks for Boat Trailers - 6 Rollers Each - 5' Long - 1,500 lbs - 1 Pair # CE27710 and a carpeted bunk like the CE Smith Carpeted Bunk Boards for Boat Trailers - 7' Long - 1 Pair # CE27845. • Recommended Roller Bunks For LoadRite PWC Trailer
The CE Smith Roller Bunks for Boat Trailers - 6 Rollers Each - 5' Long - 1,500 lbs - 1 Pair # CE27710 will work well for your LoadRite trailer. If you want the 4 foot option, you can use # CE27700. This will work with the CE Smith Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assemblies for Roller Bunks - Galvanized Steel - Qty 4 # CE10003G-4. • How To Determine the Correct CE Smith Roller Bunks for a Boat Trailer
The CE Smith Roller Bunks for Boat Trailers part # CE27710 are 5' long so as long as these are close to the same length of the bunk boards you have on your trailer now they will work well for you. The CE Smith Roller Bunks for Boat Trailers are is offered in a 4' long version, part # CE27700. I cannot confirm fit based on the make or model of the boat/trailer unfortunately, only the length of the existing bunks.

  • Can the CE Smith Roller Bunks for Boat Trailers Be Used With Aluminum Boats
The CE Smith Roller Bunks for Boat Trailers like part # CE27710 can be used on aluminum boats yes but the rigidity of the boat's hull will be the determining factor for whether or not damage can occur. If you have doubts of its rigidity then your best course of action would be to reach out to the boat trailer manufacturer to see if the hull is suitable for use with bunk rollers. I have attached a list of all our boat roller options for you as well.

  • How Far Should Rollers Install Behind Rear of Trailer Frame
I would place the roller bunks in the same orientation as the wood bunks that were there previous. There would be no need to extend them out further. Normally the bunks extend just a bit past the rear of the trailer frame like the picture I attached.

  • Recommended Roller Bunks to Replace 7 Foot Bunks on Boat Trailer
I spoke with my contact at CE Smith and she stated that 5 foot roller bunks will be adequate for your 15-1/2 foot Smokercraft Alaskan, as long as the space between the cross members are 56 inches or less. If the space is more than that, the 5 foot long bunks will not be enough and you can then obtain two sets of 4 foot bunks and have them cut to size. For a 5 foot long roller bunk, I recommend the CE Smith Roller Bunks for Boat Trailers # CE27710. This is a channel-style roller bunk that...

  • How To Determine Correct Bunk Boards and Mounting Hardware For 17' V Bottom Boat
We have exactly what you are looking for. It is recommended to have bunk boards at least 50% of the length of your boat, so since your boat measures 17' long you would want to go with bunk boards that are at least 8-1/2' long. This is the minimum recommendation so you can absolutely use longer bunk boars if desired, you just want them to run from the stern as far forward as you desire. Based on how the crossmembers are on your trailer I would pickup some 10' long 2" x 4" boards and wrap...

  • How To Choose the Correct Roller or Carpeted Bunk Boards for a Trailer
The size of bunk board or bunk roller you will need for your boat trailer is based off the hull size. However, generally speaking the manufacturer knows what size roller/bunk works best for the boat/trailer. Therefore I recommend using the same size that the trailer came with but it wouldn't hurt to go a bit longer if you have room. If you are switching from rollers to carpeted bunk boards then I would go longer. For the carpeted bunk board option we have part # CE27800 which are 36" long,...

There have not been any updates to the CE Smith Rollers, but you may want to consider the Replacement Roller for Dutton Lainson Roller Bunks # DL203228 which are a little stronger as the roller is made for boats up to 1,000 lbs heavier than the CE Smith rollers. These rollers are 2-1/4 inches diameter and 1-3/8 inches wide with a hole in the middle that is 9/16 of an inch.

  • How To Convert a Boat Trailer from Center Rollers to Bunk Rollers
Yes, it is possible to switch from center rollers to bunk rollers on a boat trailer. For this, you will first need to remove the center rollers and then you can install a set of bunk rollers, part # CE27710 along with part # CE10000G-4 to support the hull. Then, in order to support both the port and starboard sides you can use part # CE27600. I have attached a photo of a similar setup with bunk boards instead of bunk rollers for the hull.
