Question:

If I add 5 rollers to the bunks on my jon boat trailer, where should I place them? At the rear of the the trailer? Farther forward?

Hi there Tom!

When adding five rollers like part # CE27710 to your jon boat trailer bunks, I’d focus on supporting the rear of the boat properly while making sure the rollers are positioned to support the hull evenly.

Ideally, the rear edge of the roller bunks should be flush with the boat’s transom, which is the back edge of the hull. This is especially important because the engine and fuel weight are typically concentrated toward the rear, so you want to avoid leaving the transom unsupported.

Since these roller bunks are 5 feet long, they should span the rear and middle crossmembers of your trailer. You’ll want the heavier portions of the hull to rest securely across the middle and rear rollers, with the forward portion of the bunks helping guide the boat as you load it onto the trailer.

Where do you usually launch?

@TomH You're very welcome, Tom! I'm glad I could help. I hope the new rollers make loading and unloading your jon boat a little easier. Are you a big fisherman?
