Question:
I was looking at the CE Smith wobble roller for 2.18 - The roller is 2 1/2 inch diameter with a 1/2 inch shaft - I am considering building doe roller bunks for my 1999 EZ Loader boat trailer - The regular rollers for this trailer are outrageously expensive - My boat weighs 3000 pounds, and with the existing rollers presently on the trailer, I do not have adequate support - I am thinking of replacing all of the rollers with the CE Smith rollers - I would construct the bunk rails and probably use somewhere around 100 rollers for both sides of the trailer - Do you think my idea would work - Also, is there another option for bunks that would not require me to take out a second mortgage on our home - I was interested in the Dutton Lainson roller until I read the reviews - It appears the rubber blows out after a single season - The CE Smith roller appears to be made of a harder substance

The CE Smith Wobble Roller for Roller Bunks - 2-1/2" Diameter - 1/2" Shaft # CE29566BULK is a strong product and is well made. The Dutton-Lainson roller bunks like # DL21741 are also very well made with a current 4.8 out of 5 star rating. The CE Smith Roller Bunks for Boat Trailers - 6 Rollers Each - 5' Long - 1,500 lbs - 1 Pair # CE27710 have 5 out of 5 star ratings but from far less people. They are both excellent products.
The roller bunks have 18 wheels each so I think the price is worth it versus doing it all yourself and adding the hardware and galvanized steel cost. The CE pair has a weight capacity of 1500 lbs so you would need 2 pair for your 3,000 lb boat. The Dutton-Lainson pair has a 3,000 lb capacity.
The roller bunks do add an ease to the loading and launching of your boat. I think you will be very happy with the addition whether you make your own or use the manufacturers roller bunks.
