excellent for farm tractors; use on perkins diesels ,and simpson diesels; just installed and is working fine! a good one should last 20 years; the one I replaced (for a tractor from a tractor supply house lasted less than 2 YEARS, the one before had gone the 20 years) your block heater has a heavy duty cord and the threaded cuff lock down nut on the sender was an all time first for me, thanks. To use this kit 11409 your must already have the block bushing or the bushing for a block heater for this kit will be # 11461b and about $7.00. Already had one and it works great, really helps save your battery on cold days and makes starting/cranking speeds faster instead of the slow crank you get when your battery is cold, i consider it a must have for winter where we get to -20 easily. The last one I got was from another site and cost at least 20% more there, so definitely happy I could get the same product for cheaper here.

The product wasn't a proper fit at all for the vehicle. I had to modify it by cutting the thickness on the plug end with a hacksaw, to go past the engine case edge. Created a flat spot. Otherwise it wouldn't insert properly into the cavity in the engine. It would have to be all one diameter if designed properly. Not sized or designed well. Now that it's installed it seems to work ok.

2015 Hyundai Sonata 2.4 install. Have to remove air intake, very tight to get it in just enough space. Had to trim a little bit to make it fit but nothing ever fits perfect. Picture say it all.

Have not installed yet, but looks well designed and should work as advertised. This will be replacing a factory injection system on an old IH D260 tractor. I have been able to order and receive overnight a bottle of ether from NAPA.

Bon achat, j'ai fait l'installation moi même sur un corolla 2016, j'ai nettoyer le trou et j'ai ajouter de la pâte Heat sink compound et j'ai placer le Kat's Heater avec le câble électrique qui était juste assez long pour sortir de la grille. Je l'ai essayer pendant 35 minutes à -17C et il a donner de bon résultat. Cet hivers je vais travailler plus au nord ou il y aura des -40 C et je pourrai vraiment faire un bon test pour voir si il est vraiment efficace. je ferai un autre commentaire pour le verdict.

DO NOT BUY for an early 2nd generation Tacoma (~2005-2011). Fitment and product quality are horrific. As other reviewers have mentioned for these specific vehicles, you have to grind down a side of the metal, removing approx 3/100s of an inch. Annoying, but not a huge deal. After clearancing, the heater cartridge fits right into the designated hole in the block. The bigger issue is that the electrical plug slips right out of the end of the cartridge if you so much as blow on it. The clip designed to hold it all together and secure it into the truck is worthless- it is prone to popping right off of the orange section where it attaches and/or slipping off of its "notch" on the truck. All the bending/adjusting in the world could not make it work. Significant potential fire hazard if the orange plug slips off the cartridge and you plug it into 120V power without realizing this. Extremely disappointed.

It’s working Ok but I think the block heater would have been better, as it heats a little but I guess with the car outside and being so cold out it really can’t get that warm being in the lower radiator hose instead of the engine block itself. But at the time I installed it was middle of winter and did’nt have the time or weather to install one in the block instead as it would have been a project to do it that way .Maybe in the warmer weather I will switch to the block heater instead.

Fast shipping from e-trailer. Wired in a 30 amp socket with it's own fuse to plug this into. Figure engine off 12v --> at 300 watts = 25 amps. engine running 13.8v --> 22 amps. Used the heater in a test today, 25°F. Tested two conditions. 1) engine off: virtually no heat in 150w setting some heat on 300w setting. 2) engine running: amount of heat one would expect at both settings. Apparently it is very sensitive to voltage. bought it to pre-heat the truck interior. Oh well.

The heater could have been fantastic, however after a couple days - run time 2.5 hrs each day - the heater stopped producing much heat. Not sure if it's a short or the heater coil but the unit became a noisy fan that didn't blow much air. Disappointing.
