How To Install Kats Engine Block Heater KH97VR On 2024 Ford F-150

Question:

Hello! Im Mark Yuska, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Im interested in the Kats engine block heater for my 2024 F150 STX 4X4 with Ecoboost 2.7L engine. Is there a PDF instruction manual for installation of this? Id like to know whats involved in the installation, to know if it is something I can do, or do I need a professional mechanic to do the installation. Thank you very much!

Hello Mark, thanks for reaching out. The Kat's Heaters Custom Engine Block Heater # KH97VR is correct for your 2024 Ford F150 STX 4X4 EcoBoost 2.7L engine. I am sorry to say I do not have a PDF of the instruction I can send, but I can provide general instructions for how to install it. If you are familiar with working on cars this is definitely something you can do yourself.

Basically you will drain the coolant and remove the old freeze plug. Clean the hole, lubricate the O-ring with coolant, and insert the heater so the element is properly oriented. Tighten it to spec then refill and bleed the coolant system. Check for any leaks. Also make sure you route the power cord from any heat sources or moving parts. Once the element is submerged in coolant it is safe to plug in and use.
