Troubleshooting Block Heater that Is Difficult to Install in 2015 Toyota Tacoma

Question:

Hello, I recently purchased this block heater for a 2015 Toyota Tacoma V6 4L. I found the appropriate port in the block as per your video and others on youtube. I cannot get the plug to fit into this hole. It is clean, I even tried a bit of thermal grease to no avail. It will make it about 1/8 of an inch in and stick no matter how I twist or coax it in. Did I make some kind of sizing mistake or should this part fit my engine? Thanks!

As long as you have found the correct hole in your 2015 Toyota Tacoma the Kat's heater part # KH11813 would be correct for it and should slide right in. Since the hole is somewhat difficult to access you are most likely not angling it in correctly. Make sure you are trying to install it in the correct hole (see pic) and that it is lined up perfectly square as you insert it.

We have heard that the catalytic converter bracket on the 2015 model can be somewhat in the way too.
