Question:

I’m concerned it won’t fit my 2019 3.5 v6 Tacoma trd off-road Many of the reviews regarding Tacoma’s say customers had to alter the element or the clip. Hoping to be reassured this won’t happen to me before I order the part. And if it doesn’t fit I want to be able to return it for refund Lastly will this be good for -40 degree Alaska weather or will I need additional heaters?

The Kat's Heaters Custom Fit Engine Block Heater - Cartridge Style - 120V - 400 Watts # KH11813 is a confirmed fit for the 3.5L V6. You should not need to alter the element or clip in any way and doing so is not recommended. You may want to consider also getting the Kat's Heaters Plug Cover for Power Cords with 3-Prong Plugs # KH28405.

This heater is designed to heat your engine block, but with that -40 degree temperature, you should also consider using an oil pan heater like the Kat's Heaters Handi-Heat Magnum Magnetic Heater - 120V - 5" x 4-1/4" - CSA Approved # KH1190 and a battery heater like # KH22200. These will ensure your engine is ready to run and your battery will be able to have the power to start it.
