by:

Easy to install. So far it is working great. Have 2 12 volt batteries installed inside for my camper. and I will see if it is really working in a couple weeks when I go back to check on it and hopefully my batteries will not be dead.

by:

Very durable battery box. Easy to install. Been using it for over a year now, and winch battery has stayed charged - so the solar charger must be working!

by:

This thing is absolutely great! It is mounted on the boat trailer - the battery for the boat winch lives in it. The solar panel provides necessary amount of charge to keep the battery full even with daily usage. Highly recommended!

by:

Excellent service and response. I had my order in a couple of days. Everything was as advertised. (as always). The battery box works perfectly for our use.

by: 05/16/2024

Works as advertised. A good match for the trailer it's mounted on.

by:

Was able to finely mount the Battery Storage Box on my RV Trailer. Had weld a couple of angle iron pieces on the top of the frame. Very pleased with the finished product

by:

This battery box worked out perfectly. Greg was awesome in helping me figure what I needed. Just to help clarify, the box does come with a 8amp power regulator. It's hidden under the solar panel and you have to remove the panel from the lid to see it, otherwise you would not know it's there.

  • Does TorkLift PowerArmor Solar Locking Battery Box Need Battery Cutoff Switch?
Since you are using a pair of 12 volt batteries you do not need a battery cutoff switch or power regulator to use the TorkLift PowerArmor Solar Locking Battery Box # TLA7708RS. You would only need a regulator such as # TLA7715 if you were using a single battery.

  • Will Two 12 Volt Marine Batteries Fit in and Be Charged Up By TorkLift PowerArmor Battery Box
The TorkLift PowerArmor battery box # TLA7708RS has the following internal dimensions: 26-1/2" long x 7-3/8" wide x 12-9/16" tall. You would have to place your batteries next to each other and measure them to determine if both will fit in this box. Provided the batteries are wired as a 12 volt system the solar panel can charge them. But charging 2 batteries will take twice as long. The batteries would need to be at least at 50 percent charge for the solar panel to charge them up. A second...

  • Will 2 Interstate 6 Volt Golf Cart Batteries Fit & Charge in a TorkLift PowerArmor Solar Battery Box
Yes, you can charge 2 Interstate 6-volt batteries in the TorkLift PowerArmor solar locking battery box # TLA7708RS. The only thing to really consider is the length, width and height of each battery. With that said, the internal dimensions this box are 26.50 length x 7.375 width x 12.5625 height (26-1/2 x 7-3/8 x 12-9/16). Insert the positive and negative battery cables into the box through the 2-inch hole. Connect the positive cable from the camper to the positive terminal on one of the...

  • Recommended Trailer Wiring for Solar and Vehicle Charged Trailer Batteries with Inverter
I can absolutely help you with this trailer. First, I recommend using the 7-Way Molded Trailer Plug with Junction Box # HS381-9000 along with ring terminals # 44-5310A. This will easily allow you to convert your 4-way wiring and also add your trailer brakes using # 10-1-1. Then you can use the 10 inch # AKEBRK-35-SA for the 4 hole mounting flange or 12 inch # AKEBRK-7-SA brake assemblies for the 5 bolt mounting flange. For your charging your trailer batteries from your vehicle, I recommend...

  • TorkLift PowerArmor Locking Battery Box Without Solar Panel
The box without the solar panel you are looking for is the TorkLift PowerArmor Locking Battery Box - 6V and 12V Batteries # TLA7708R; this is exactly the same as the TorkLift PowerArmor Solar Locking Battery Box # TLA7708RS with the only difference being it does not have the solar panel. In regards to a gap, I cut out a part of the linked video review which shows there is a small gap on the top of the box (on the left), though you may be able to use the hole in the back, depending on how...

  • Can an A-Frame Electric Trailer Jack be Powered through a 7-Way Trailer Connector
Technically, you could attach an electric jack, such as # BD500199, power wire to the 12 volt circuit on a 7-Way trailer side connector. If looking at the back of the 7-Way where the wires attach it is in the 1 o'clock position. But the vehicle side trailer wiring may not be rated high enough to power the jack properly (30 amps). If other things on the trailer are also drawing power from the 12 volt circuit then it could overload it. You would also want to keep the truck running so the...

  • Can the Torklift PowerArmor Solar Locking Battery Box Withstand Cold Winter Weather
My contact at Torklift confirmed with me that the Torklift PowerArmor Solar Locking battery Box, # TLA7708RS, has a sturdy aluminum construction, but is not insulated for protection from cold weather. The battery box needs to be vented to allow the exchange of gasses that are produced by the batteries. The uninsulated design allows for these harmful gasses to be passed and vented to the outside so not to build up within the battery box. The solar panel will wok as long as the panel receives...

I recommend using 2 12V batteries to give you a longer battery life and more amp hours with the TorkLift PowerArmor Solar Locking Battery Box - 6V and 12V Batteries - Diamond Plate Aluminum, # TLA7708RS. When using two batteries, you only need a single 10-watt Solar Panel. • Inverter and Solar Panel Battery Box Recommendation for a Trailer with 110 Power
To charge the 12 volt batteries of your trailer while towing from your 2013 Toyota Tacoma you would want to run the 12 volt accessory circuit from your trailer wiring harness to the positive posts of your batteries. • Why is TorkLift PowerArmor Solar Battery Box Not Charging Batteries
If it isn't a potential wiring issue, which I do assume you have checked, the problem could be that the solar panel on the TorkLift PowerArmor Solar Locking Battery Box # TLA7708RS will only charge the batteries so long as they are at least already at a 50 percent charge. It will also take quite a bit longer to charge two batteries as well so you will want to be sure to use your battery power sparingly if possible. Otherwise you may need to invest in something with more solar power capability....

I do have a few different options for you, but charging your trailer battery from the battery on your 2016 Ford F-150 while driving is not what I recommend doing. The 7-Way on your F-150 does not have the capability to charge a large enough battery to run your winch. The only kind of battery that it can charge is something like a small breakaway battery. You would have to find wiring that is big enough to carry that much power and run it straight to the battery on your trailer. The first...
