Erickson Tow Straps and Recovery Straps - EM59808

  • Recovery Strap
  • 10 Inch Wide
  • 30 Feet Long
  • Extra Heavy Duty
  • Reinforced Loops
  • Erickson
  • Nylon

Nylon-reinforced, stitched ends reduce wear and let you quickly and easily attach this strap to tow hooks. Heavy-duty webbing can stretch an additional 10 percent to slingshot out stuck vehicles. 125,000 lbs Max load.

Features:

  • Recovery strap helps you release stuck vehicles
  • Nylon-reinforced loop ends are long-lasting and quick and easy to attach
    • High-tenacity nylon overlay helps prevent wear on the pull area
  • Heavy-duty, 2-ply webbing stretches an additional 10 percent to slingshot out stuck vehicles

Specs:

  • Strap dimensions: 10" wide x 30' long
  • Maximum load (break strength): 125,000 lbs
  • Maximum vehicle weight: 62,500 lbs

Note: The weight of the stuck vehicle must not exceed the maximum vehicle weight rating of the strap being used.

If your vehicle is stuck in off-road terrain and has lost the traction it needs to escape, this recovery strap will help pull it free. The strap is designed to stretch and recoil. This means that when it is put under tension, the strap stretches until snapping back to its resting length, "slingshotting" the vehicle out of its jam.

This recovery strap has a reinforced loop at either end for securing to the tow vehicle and the recovery vehicle. Once the strap is attached, slowly move the recovery vehicle away from the stuck vehicle. This will initiate the stretch and recoil action and pull the stuck vehicle free.

Video Transcript for Erickson Recovery Tow Strap Review

Today we're going to take a look at the Erickson Recovery Strap with the dual loop nylon reinforced ends. This is the 10 inch wide model, 30 foot long. It's going to give 125,000lb break strength and 62,500lb working load limit or safe vehicle weight limit. Part number on it is EM590808. As you can see we've got a nice wide, heavy-duty stitched material. This is a two-ply layer. This is going to give us great pulling force.

Also it's going to stretch about 10% longer than its actual length to give us that slingshot or that rubber band effect when we're trying to get vehicles out that are really stuck. The heavy-duty stitched nylon reinforced end, it's going to make it very easy to connect to whatever kind of a shackle or recovery system that we're going to use, but, this is also going to give us a nice long-lasting strap because it reinforces our pulling end and prevents that wear and tear. Now than we've gone our features let's show you how this thing works. Now we're here at our recovery vehicle so we're going to take the end of our strap, put that nylon reinforced loop right into our shackle, bring it down closed and make sure it's secure. As you can see our vehicle to be recovered is off in the mud. Now let's give it a tug and get it out of there. That will complete today's look at the Erickson Recovery Strap with the dual-looped, nylon reinforced ends. Part number on it is EM59808. .

I purchased these straps for our equipment (dozer , Excavator) for when we happen to get stuck. The strap does good as far as the weight..... BUT..... The material has frayed too easy and we are watching them closely as far as pulling them out of service. Be sure to keep the strap in a storage bag and keep it as clean as possible.

  • What To Do with Damaged Recovery Tow Strap
Most people will say that if you damage a tow strap you really just need to replace the entire thing as it was obviously stressed to the point of failure and would likely fail again if fixed. I would not recommend attempting to repair what looks like a tow strap that's seen quite a bit of stress. Instead I'd recommend replacing it with a strap like our Erickson Recovery Strap w/ Reinforced Loop Ends # EM59808 which has a 62,500 lb capacity.
