Question:
Hi, I own a 2016 North Trail travel trailer and want to use the Torkliftbox. Is it better to use 2 12V batteries or 2 6V batteries and will the charge be higher than the usage while in storage, i.e. the radio display light and the propane monitor?

Expert Reply:
I recommend using 2 12V batteries to give you a longer battery life and more amp hours with the TorkLift PowerArmor Solar Locking Battery Box - 6V and 12V Batteries - Diamond Plate Aluminum, # TLA7708RS. When using two batteries, you only need a single 10-watt Solar Panel. If you plan on using one solar panel for each battery, then you would need to use an 8 Amp Regulator # TLA7715 on each to prevent your battery from gassing and over charging. The charge will be higher than the usage while in storage so you won't lose your displays or monitors.
