Roadmaster Tow Bar Base Plate - RM-521559-5

  • Removable Draw Bars
  • Roadmaster
  • Twist Lock Attachment
  • Partially Hidden

Designed for use with motor-home-mounted tow bars, the direct-connect brackets are virtually invisible, easy to mount and remove, and they eliminate the need for a quick-disconnect crossbar on your tow bar. Installs on your vehicle's frame.

Features:

  • Direct-connect brackets provide attachment points for your motor-home-mounted tow bar
  • Streamlined design creates supremely clean look
    • No obtrusive quick-disconnect crossbar
    • Hidden brackets sit even farther back than standard brackets
  • Drawbars attach and remove quickly and easily
    • Arms click to lock in place in brackets
    • Built-in pull rings let you unlock arms so you can twist and remove them
  • Computer-cut, all-steel construction provides exceptional strength
  • Black powder coat finish is durable and corrosion resistant
  • Simple installation - no welding required
    • Custom base plates ensure a perfect fit for your vehicle
  • Compatible with Roadmaster motor-home-mounted tow bars only
  • Instructions and mounting hardware included
  • Made in the USA
  • Limited Lifetime Warranty

Note: Roadmaster direct-connect base plates will only work with Roadmaster tow bars that slide into a trailer hitch, such as the Nighthawk, Sterling, Blackhawk, Blackhawk 2, Falcon, or Falcon 2. These base plates will not work with tow bars that require a hitch ball.

The drawbars, or front arms, on this base plate kit are supremely easy to mount and remove. Just insert them into the brackets and twist to lock them in place. To remove each arm, simply tug the built-in pull pin to disengage the lock, twist the arm back and pull it out of the bracket. Once the drawbars have been removed, the remaining brackets are virtually invisible. On most automobiles, the brackets are mounted within the grille, where they remain not only unseen, but protected from scrapes and scuffs as well.

  • Does Roadmaster Base Plate Kit part # RM-521559-5 Come with Safety Chain Anchors
The Roadmaster base plate kit part # RM-521559-5 that you referenced does have safety chain tabs built into it so you do not need to add anchors. I attached a picture of them pointed out that I took from the install instructions.

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2007 Honda CR-V Behind a Motorhome
Yes, I will be happy to tell you what you will need to flat tow your 2007 Honda CR-V behind your motorhome. There are 5 major components needed: base plates, tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking. For base plates I recommend Roadmaster EZ5 base plates # RM-521559-5. These base plates are compatible with all Roadmaster RV mounted tow bars. And when the arms are removed the base plates are basically invisible so they will have a minimal impact on the visual appearance...

  • Best Flat Tow Package For 2008 Honda CR-V
Hey Mike, thanks for reaching out. You are on the right track with the parts you mentioned. The base plate and tow bar are definitely compatible (although the 522 has been discontinued and replaced with the 622), and the Demco is a solid choice for an air brake motorhome. There are a few more parts you'll need, so here is a list of everything I recommend for flat towing your 2008 CR-V: - Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM-521559-5 - Roadmaster Falcon 3HD Tow...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow 2011 Honda CR-V
Hey Timothy, you are off to a great start for flat towing components for your 2011 Honda CR-V with the Roadmaster Direct Connect Base Plate Kit part # RM-521559-5 and the Roadmaster Night Hawk part # RM-676. I wouldn't say this tow bar is overkill at all and in fact I would say it's just really nice and would be easier to use. Then for lighting you would want the part # RM-9284-2 which comes with a hitch lock as well as a storage bag for the tow bar. Then for a charge line kit you would...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow 2008 Honda CR-V Behind Motorhome
Your 2008 Honda CR-V is a popular vehicle for towing behind a motorhome and we can help you get yours all set with the items needed for safe and legal flat towing. The linked overview article has lots of helpful information and is a great place to start your planning. Let's start with a baseplate for the CR-V. For this I recommend the Roadmaster EZ5 kit # RM-521559-5. This base plate features removable arms with a handy twist-lock attachment so there are no pins to get lost. The arms can...

  • Recommended Blue Ox Baseplate For A 2010 Honda CR-V
Thank you for the picture. What you have there is the Roadmaster Falcon 2 # RM-525. This model is made specifically to go with Blue Ox brand base plates. For your 2010 Honda CR-V I recommend the Blue Ox Base Plate # BX2246. That will be everything you need to hook up the tow bar. From the looks of your picture they gave you safety cables as well, like the # RM-643. If you are in need of a brake light wiring kit, you can use the Roadmaster diode kit # RM-15267. Yes, the Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System # HM39524 will work great in place of the Roadmaster Even Brake Portable Supplemental Braking System # RM-9400. If you plan on flat towing your 2011 Honda CR-V often, I recommend installing a permanent system like the Roadmaster BrakeMaster System w BrakeAway for RVs w Air or Air Over Hydraulic Brakes # RM-9160. This is a one time install system that makes connecting and disconnecting your toad much easier and faster. If...

  • Are Roadmaster or Blue Ox Base Plates Easier to Install on 2011 Honda CR-V
Between the base plates that fit your 2011 Honda CR-V, the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX2246 and Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-521559-5, I recommend the Roadmaster as it will be the slightly easier installation. The reason for that is the Roadmaster does not require having to saw off part of the bumper core in order to install the base plates, which the Blue Ox does require. That is the major difference between the two installs so if it were my 2011 Honda CR-V I would definitely...

In order to use a Roadmaster Sterling Tow Bar on a 2008 Honda CR-V, I recommend the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit part # RM-521559-5. This option allows you to get rid of the crossbar so you can make a direct connection on each side which cuts down on time and keeping track of additional parts.
