Question:
Im looking for a full tow package for my 2008 Honda CR/V. Items Ive looked at are the RM-521559-5 baseplate, SM99243 AirForce One braking system, wiring, the RM-522 Towbar, and other items needed to tow. Topics to discuss are these all compatible, are they the best fit for my CR/V and class A RV.

Hey Mike, thanks for reaching out. You are on the right track with the parts you mentioned. The base plate and tow bar are definitely compatible (although the 522 has been discontinued and replaced with the 622), and the Demco is a solid choice for an air brake motorhome. There are a few more parts you'll need, so here is a list of everything I recommend for flat towing your 2008 CR-V:
- Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM-521559-5
- Roadmaster Falcon 3HD Tow Bar - RV Mount - 2" Hitch - 10,000 lbs # RM27NQ
- Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles - 7-Way to 6-Way Coiled Adapter Cord # RM-15267
- Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass Switch for Towed Vehicles - 20-Amp ATM Mini-Fuse # RM76511
- Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25
- Demco Air Force One Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Air Brakes - Proportional # SM99243
That will cover all the main components. You may end up needing a drop hitch like part # BLU28XR to make up for any height differences between the base plate arms and the hitch on your RV. Any difference of more than 3" will require a drop hitch. I also recommend grabbing a cover # e76FV and lock # e98881 to protect your tow bar.
Have you flat towed before? Where will you take the CR-V behind the coach?

The Roadmaster Direct Connect base plate kit worked great for our 2009 CRV. I installed myself and was happy at the ease to install. It’s mostly hidden under the bumper too. I’m glad I made this choice!
