Heavy Duty, well made, and long enough to clear my car's bumper (2015 Subaru Outback 3.6R).

by:

parts are fine. shipping was terrible. parts fell out of the box when I picked the box up. bet the shipper was mad

by:

I am very satisfied with this product and have not had any problems with it for over a year of using it, good product at a good price. thanks etrailer

by:

Purchased a hitch a week before camping. It came timely, clear instruction. I bolted it up and wired the light in about an hour. I had difficulty cleaning the weld nuts as my car is five years old.

by:

The hitch and wiring was very easy to install after watching the installation videos. They were extremely helpful and showed exactly what I needed to do.

by:

It was easy. That’s what I like. Went online, selected my car, and brought up exactly what I needed, Hitch, wiring, everything. Received my order promptly, and installed the hitch and the wiring in about an hour. Had very simple instructions. I would order from etrailer again.

by:

The order came even sooner than I expected and everything was correct. Thanks to your videos I was able to install the hitch and the wiring harness by myself. The hardest part of the job was loosening the two bolts just above the muffler. The job could have been hard but again, thanks to your videos, the job was really quite easy.

by:

Very happy withthe product and the quality of care and service from etrailer.com. Everything arrived ahead of time even with the holidays, well packed and ready for use.

Thank you!

by:

Solid product and great fit.

by:

This product was excellent! I love how you can hide the hitch when not using it. I watched the easy to install videos, and even though the video instructions were excellently done and made the installation seem fairly simple, I decided to have it installed professionally. When I priced out all off the parts needed, etrailer was about $150 cheaper then other web-sites; Since the installation only cost me $143, I figured I would use my savings to pay someone who knows what they are doing to install it. When you purchase the main part for this hitch, click on "Other Items Customers Purchased who Purchased this Part' (or something like this) and you will be able to figure out the other parts needed (i.e, the ball). Shipping was super fast, I received my purchase in 3 days. I give the product and web-site an A++++++!

  • Solution for Needing A Little More Clearance to Allow Tailate to Fold Down and Not Hit Jack
Hey Carl, I think I have a better solution but I would need more info from you to give you the exact part number you need. So your best solution will be a ball mount that has a longer distance between the hitch ball hole and the hitch pin hole. So to get you what you'd need I would need to know the current distance of that on your ball mount, the size hitch your ball mount is for, and the amount of rise/drop your current ball mount has. Hitch extension add a bit of movement so they aren't...

  • Adding Brakes To A Shorelander Single Axle Boat Trailer
Hello Dan. This trailer currently has no brakes correct? It may be possible to add electric brakes, as long as the axle is equipped with a 4-bolt brake flange. If no brake flange is present, you would either need to have them added to the axle, or replace the axle entirely. If you do have a brake flange, you can add electric brakes without too much trouble. You will need to get brake assemblies, hub/drum assemblies, a 7-way trailer wiring harness, an emergency breakaway kit, and an electric...

  • Best Extended Ball Mount for Towing a 4,000 lbs Trailer
Hey Ben! All of the hitch extenders like the Gen-Y item # GY89SR are going to reduce your hitch's capacity by 50% so I am not sure that's going to work with your Land Rover's towing capacity. So long as you are not using a ball mount with a bunch of drop the easiest way to get some extra distance is to use the Hidden Hitch Ball Mount item # 80232. The Hidden Hitch Ball Mount item # 80232 is 15-3/4" long from the hitch pin hole to the center of the hitch ball. It does have 2" of drop built...

  • Recommended 2" Hitch Extender for a Truck w/ the Tailgate Down
Hey Brandon. The longest hitch extender we have is the 14" long Gen-Y Hitch item # GY89SR. This fits a 2" receiver and has a 10,000 lbs capacity but it will reduce your hitches capacity by 50% like all hitch extenders do. The 15-3/4" Long Hidden Hitch Ball Mount item # 80232 fits a 2" receiver and has a 6,000 lbs tongue weight capacity. It will not reduce your hitch's capacity. • Will the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Adapter Work w/ a Bike Rack and Extended Ball Mount?
Yes, on the bike rack but no on the Hidden Hitch Ball Mount item # 80232. You can't tow a trailer with the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter item # RM-077-2 anyways. That is only designed to be used for flat-towing plus you will lose half of your hitch's capacity because it's an adapter. Instead, you will want to use the Replacement Shank for Gen-Y Adjustable Ball Mount item # 325-GH-303. This will have no impact on your hitch's capacity, has a 10,000 lbs towing capacity, and a 1,500...

  • Recommended Ball Mount w/ 14" From the Center of the Hitch Pin to the Center of the Hitch Ball
Hey Jr. The best option I have is the Hidden Hitch Ball Mount item # 80232. From the center of hitch pin hole to center of ball hole is 15-3/4". It does only have a 3/4" rise but there's not many options for that long of a ball mount. The Hidden Hitch Ball Mount item # 80232 has an identical 6,000 lbs capacity as the Curt Channel Style Adjustable Ballmount item # C45901 you're using. You can use the 2" Hitch Ball item # 40038 or the 2-5/16" Hitch Ball item # 63847. What kind of trailer...

  • Looking For Extended Ball Mount For 2025 Toyota 4Runner
Hello Glenn, thanks for reaching out. We do carry a few extended ball mounts, but the longest we offer is the Hidden Hitch Ball Mount # 80232 which measures 15-3/4" from the pin hole to the ball hole. This is rated for towing up to 6,000 lbs and has 2" of drop. If this is not long enough, the only other option would be to use a hitch extension. These are available, but the downside is they will reduce the carrying capacity of your hitch by 50%. So your 6,000 lb rated hitch would be limited...

I'm not 100% sure what your setup is now but you may be able to use an extra long ball mount like the Hidden Hitch Ball Mount # 80232. This measures 15-3/4" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole with a gross towing weight of 6,000 lbs. You will also need # 63845 for a 2" or # 63847 for a 2-5/16" diameter ball and a reducer...

  • Can Longer Ball Mount Allow Trailer to be Towed with Tailgate Down
Hey Gustavo, a hitch extender could work for you but I don't love recommending them since they cut the capacity of the hitch they are used in by 50 percent and add a bit of movement. Your best solution would be a longer ball mount if that would work since that avoids those issues. So to see what would work could I get the length of your current ball mount and the current drop you have as well as how much more length you'd need. With that info we can come up with the best plan. For example,...

  • Solution For Temporarily Extending Trailer Tonge Depending On Boat Ramp Conditions
Hello Adam, thanks for reaching out. That is an interesting idea, but I am not aware of any product that would attach to the trailer to intermittently extend the tongue. Your best bet for that would be to use an extended ball mount like part # 80232, or to use a hitch extension like part # e48YR. Aside from that, the only other solution would be to permanently extend the trailer tongue. Just keep in mind if you do tow with an hitch extender, your hitches towing capacity will be reduced...

  • How Can Longer Ball Mount Not Reduce Hitch Weight Capacity
Technically any additional length is going to increase leverage on the trailer hitch. But there isn't an exact standard length ball mount so going super technical on how much the force multiplied when the ball mount is beyond a certain length is just not something our manufacturers do. So when you combine that with fact that most ball mounts are not that much longer than others the tongue weight capacity of a vehicle is not reduced when using a longer ball mount like the part # 80232....

  • How to Add Length to a Boat Trailer Tongue to Avoid Backing Vehicle Into the Water
Hey Robert, thanks for reaching out! The best options we have to add length to your trailer tongue is with the Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge which comes with Weld-On # FHDPW330300 and Bolt-On # FHDPB330301 installations. These have a 5,000 lb max weight rating, but that decreases the more length you add. Aside from this we have longer ball mounts like the Hidden Hitch Ball Mount # 80232 you purchased that can also help add more length to your setup.

Yeah, there are no TorkLift SuperHitches available for a 2023 Jeep Gladiator or any Jeep. Those are the heaviest duty bumper pull hitches and are reserved for large trucks with the highest towing capacities. You'll want to look into a weight distribution system with an extended shank if your Gladiator's hitch is rated for one. • Can Patriot Hitches Adjustable Drop Hitch Receiver Be Used With Hitch Extender
I do have a solution, but I would not recommend using a hitch extender with the Patriot Hitches Adjustable Drop Hitch Receiver # PH67SR. This receiver won't reduce the capacity of your hitch, but an extender will reduce the capacity by 50%. You're also going to be adding 3 parts to your hitch when you include the ball mount.
