Looking For Extended Ball Mount For 2025 Toyota 4Runner

Question:

I have a 3200 tear travel trailer and a 2025 4Runner with a 6000 tow maximum. I need a drawbar with 17” from center of the ball mount hole to the drawbar pin hole. The should be about 3.25”. Do you have any advice for a drawbar that would work for me?

Hello Glenn, thanks for reaching out. We do carry a few extended ball mounts, but the longest we offer is the Hidden Hitch Ball Mount # 80232 which measures 15-3/4" from the pin hole to the ball hole. This is rated for towing up to 6,000 lbs and has 2" of drop.

If this is not long enough, the only other option would be to use a hitch extension. These are available, but the downside is they will reduce the carrying capacity of your hitch by 50%. So your 6,000 lb rated hitch would be limited to 3,000 lbs.

What do you need the longer ball mount for? Are you trying to clear a rear mounted spare tire?

Thanks for your reply. I need the hatch gate on the 4Runner to clear the trailer tongue mounted bike rack. Probably need to have one custom made or find an alternative to the bike rack on the tongue.

@GlennW Ok gotcha. Yes there just isn't a ball mount that would be long enough without using an extension. I would avoid using the extension if at all possible. If you can come up with an alternative for the bike rack on the tongue that would probably make things a lot easier.
