Features to know about

Measure for a Safe Tow

Many tow systems need a riser or drop to get the tow bar level. To check your setup, hook up your tow bar, measure, and see if it's within the safe zone. That means no more than 3" above level or 3" below. If it's outside that range, this adapter provides the rise or drop needed to bring it back in line. It's built for flat towing only, so don't use it to pull a trailer.

  • Is There 10 inch Hitch Extension that Can be used When Towing a Vehicle
Hey Jay, the etrailer High Low adapter part # e85ZV that you referenced is designed for use when towing one vehicle with another vehicle. This is what flat towing is. This is a situation where there is basically no tongue weight as all since a vehicle is supported with 4 wheels unlike a trailer where the front of it is supported but the trailer hitch of the tow vehicle. This specific adapter is designed only for flat towing so a better option would be the # HES0 which was designed for towing...

  • Can I Use the etrailer High-Low Fixed Adapter for Tow Bars e85ZV on a Boat Trailer?
Hey Jeremy. I have a solution for you but the etrailer item # e85ZV is not going to work. It's a high low adapter that's only rated for flat towing setups. You can't pull a trailer with it. Instead you'll want to use the Gen-Y Hitch Receiver Hitch Extender for 2" Trailer Hitches item # GY89SR. This one is rated for pulling up to a 10,000 lbs trailer. It's a bit longer at 14" but it's also going to fit a 2" receiver. This shouldn't be an issue with your F-350 but please note that all...

  • Hitch Extender for Draw-Tite Front Mount Hitch on 2022 Nissan Frontier
Hi Andrew; when you say hitch plate do you mean like a license plate holder or an actual hitch plate for towing? The etrailer High-Low Fixed Adapter # e85ZV is only rated for flat towing. If you wanted it to hold some kind of bracket for a license plate that wouldn't be an issue. However, without any kind of tongue weight rating I can't recommend using it for a step. The Roadmaster # RM-048-2 has the same measurements and design with a 400 lb tongue weight capacity so that would work....

Happy to help out, Daniel! Looks like you got the majority of the parts you need. There are just a few outliers that you will need. I'll include a complete list that will have the parts you mentioned above, additional parts you will need, as well as some parts that are optional. All required parts: Part # RM27NQ - Roadmaster Falcon 3HD Tow Bar Part # 4427-3A - Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit Part # RM-645 - Straight Safety Cables Part # RM-15267 - Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal...

  • What is the Distance Between the Hitch Pin Holes on the etrailer High-Low Adapter for Tow Bars?
Hey Tim. From center to center of the hitch pin holes is 10" on the etrailer High-Low Fixed Adapter for Tow Bars item # e85ZV. This 2" high low adapter fits a 2" hitch receiver and has a 10,000 lbs capacity. It's designed to be used exclusively for flat towing and can not be used to tow a trailer or mount an accessory like a bike rack. If you need an extender for a trailer, I recommend our etrailer item # e88YR 8" long or item # e28YR 14" long. How long of an extension are you needing...

  • How Do I Lower My Weight Distribution If My Truck Has a Lift
Hey, Anthony! The etrailer High-Low adapter # e85ZV can't be used to tow a trailer, so it wouldn't be able to be used with weight distribution. I looked into the Eaz-Lift R3 system that you have, and the shank that comes with it only has a 3/4" drop. You can get a different shank that would give you more of a drop. The Blue Ox part # BXW4003 should give you a 4" max drop. The Eaz-Lift R3 is unique in that round bar systems usually hang low, but yours sit up over the head. So the Blue...
