Question:
I have a 2022 Subaru Ascent with an OEM hitch. I am needing something to intermittently extend the tongue of my boat trailer depending on ramp conditions. I know there are ways to extend the tongue of the trailer permanently but thought that this could be an intermittent solution for when needed. Would this fit or is there a way to confirm?

Hello Adam, thanks for reaching out. That is an interesting idea, but I am not aware of any product that would attach to the trailer to intermittently extend the tongue. Your best bet for that would be to use an extended ball mount like part # 80232, or to use a hitch extension like part # e48YR.
Aside from that, the only other solution would be to permanently extend the trailer tongue.
Just keep in mind if you do tow with an hitch extender, your hitches towing capacity will be reduced by 50% so you really would only want to use it when you get to the ramp.
